Republic/Shuttle/Chautauqua Pilots

I have an interview on Wednesday. I've studied the gouges but am still quite nervous. This is my one shot not to commute any longer or have to move my family (I live in Indy). Any advice or tips other than what I might find in the gouge? TIA!

I'm sure you can get specific gouge on the web, but the most imortant interview tip that I would pass on is to be well rested the day of. Since pilot interviews usually involve travel and maybe time-zone changes, try to arrive early on the day before the interview. Study if you need to, but put the books away at dinner time, get a good meal, a beer (ONE beer), and go to bed early. Also do whatever stress reduction activity you prefer; stretch, jog, lift, whatever.

I figured this out because I've alawys performed better at interviews where I didn't really want the job...no real pressure :D Since you really want this job, try to get some of the stress out of the picture.

interview

I interviewed on monday for an F/A position. I am a certificated pilot but i just recieved my CFII and i dont have enough hours for them. Anyway, i interviewed with the pilot recruiter for the F/A position and she is a stickler. I got the job but i really wasnt sure in the beginning. Dont go in there expecting to read her because she is very monotnous. Anyway, good luck, maybe in a couple of years i will to an internal position change and we will be flying together. who knows.

Thank you both your replies. And lucky - wow! They notified you quickly. Congratulations.

Lucky - I got the right seat of the EMB170, May 30 class date. Maybe I'll see you on a flight in the near future!

Are you at liberty to discuss what certificate they hired you for? Did you get S. America and IND or Republic with the East Coast commute?
Thx

I got Shuttle but will not find out my base until sometime in/after training.

Congratulations. At least if it is not Indy, you have the possibility of getting there in relative short order on that certificate. I am hoping for the same sort of news when I interview, my preference being ORD. Although, I was told that the pool is being built up in anticipation of future classes, so there might be a wait involved for me.

Congrats again on your achievement. Good luck with training and enjoy!

chq still hiring??

I sent my resume via e-mail on Feb 21st and still receive no reply from them. I have over 4000 hrs TT and 2300 Jet time. I thought they would be interested on me. Am I missing something?

Corp,
I would say persistence pays off. If you want Republic Airways to call, send in a resume once a week or so. It's what I did when I was applying to the regionals.
Good Luck
