Big Metal Romper Rooms

Anyone know any threads on Monday's CSI Miami episode with the airplane with a "romper room" above 1st class where CA does FA.

ahah i saw that episode too...here are some blatant errors i noticed...first of all, when the captain was being interviewed by the police in the crew parking lot, the crew parking lot was way too close to the airport. its usually like a 20 minute shuttle ride in a bad part of town. second, did you see how nicely he was dressed? im assuming he just got done with a trip and yet his suit his very nicely pressed? at the end of a 4 day(dont even ask about 5+) i usually look like ive been thrown out of a moving car. while the embraer doesnt have a romper room, you can take a seat cushion off of a seat and put it over the aisle to lay down. i guess thatd work too in a pinch

Are the mainline folks hiding something from us? What types of aircraft have romper rooms? In the regional world the ATR 72's are close?

Working for Virgin Atlantic way back when, I was very impressed by the romper rooms on the 744...at least on Virgin aircraft, you would find it in the back by the lav's. One of the doors opened to a semi-spiral staircase with ten bunks or so. Very cool...

I was not so impressed with the A340 (300/600), where the rest quarters were aircraft-center down in the belly. Don't know if there is any truth to it either, but I heard that they are actually pods that can be taken out of the aircraft much like the baggage cans...

Yeah, because there's nothing hotter than a granny looking cat rancher who's hasn't seen better days since 1964.

The girls in the photo don't exist in real romper rooms....those are models, hired to make the airlines look "fun" and "exciting". I always thought they were just called crew rest quarters, is Romper room, a real term, or something made up for CSI miami - filmed in California?

I've never heard them called that. I have heard them called "Condo," "Coffin," "Crew Rest Facility."

hah, Yeah I TiVo'ed that episode. You would think that a show like that would hire an outside aviation 'consultant'... So many flaws. But my favorite line "Hey look, down here Im a good husband, up there, the rules are different." I'm sure the Delta wives loved seeing that - that is if they took a break from watching "The Pilot's Wife" for a moment..

Oh man did you see the episode where a an engine failure sent a businessjet spinning into the everglades? You can't possibly take that show for serious!
