TSA Current Affairs.

Okay look, here are the ground rules to this "new" TSA thread.

#1: Only topics that affect TSA
#2: NO TALK ABOUT GOJET! (Unless it directly pertains to our negotiations or what not.)
#3: NO TALK ABOUT GOJET!
#4: REFER TO #2 - 3

I think that its a shame that people hijacked our old thread. I am tired of sifting through it trying to find new information, while a pro/anti gojet flame war is going on. So I am politely asking all of you GoJeters to NOT POST ON THIS THREAD. PERIOD. I wont post on yours, you wont post on mine. Its a fair trade. I certainly do not CARE what you have to say, and I imagine if I were to tell you how I fealt you would not care to hear it. So do us all a big favor, and just stay off of this thread.

As per new news, Any one have anything?

ALSO, be sure to contact your p2p representatives . Fly safe, and fly your contract.

elcid79 04-10-2009 10:08 AM

OH, RESERVE PILOTS. BE SURE TO RE-READ THE SCHEDULING SECTION OF YOUR CONTRACT. I had SEVERAL very senior reserve people discussion reserve contract in the crew room the other day that were completely missinformed / missunderstanding what the phraseology says. If you have any questions contact a P2P rep or the appropriate Union official.

Shrek 04-11-2009 05:09 AM

Any information should be derived from the MEC or its representatives (P2P) and not on APC or any other public forum. No problem in doing it per se but you should expect the thread to drift..........

If you have time to type - you have time to call an MEC rep.

CaptainCarl 04-11-2009 06:24 PM

Shrek is correct, you can not take anything for fact on here because its a free and open board, however we can still drop ideas and questions, and hopefully those people who "know" truth can do as much damage control and dissemination as possible. Again, your P2P reps are a good source of information. However, as all of you remember from playing the telephone game when you were growing up, stories change when told from person to person. That is the primary consideration when dealing with the P2P setup. The information is at least 3rd or 4th hand. So the BEST source of information is to read the VARS messages and the ALPA fast reads. The information is accurate and will be presented to us as it becomes available. Furthermore, keep in mind that the company can read what people post on here, and there are ways that IT departments can figure out who is posting what etc. All that I am saying is be careful.

Again,
Fly Safe & Fly your contract.

How would they do that? IT can't even figure out how to keep our login info for the furloughed. IT, if you're reading this, purpleanga can't log into the employee page. Thanks.

Tell you tomorrow when the bid packs come out.

Purpleanga 04-16-2009 06:17 PM

I'm wondering about the total number of pilots. APC says 446 total and 278 active but only 108 on furlough, that doesn't add up.

15789 04-17-2009 01:14 AM

Active does not include management, military leave, or medical leave. That is where the discrepancy probably lays.

Positive_Rate 04-17-2009 12:10 PM

From the May bid packs:

STL
56 CAs
51 FOs

107

RIC
23 CAs
23 FOs

46

IAD

60 CAs
57 FOs

117

Totals: 270 bidding pilots for May.

I may be wrong, but it doesn't appear as if these numbers take into account the 30 furloughs going down in May. I don't see some of the guys' names that are getting F'd on the list.

The bid-pack letter from MW states that effective May 1st, we will have 29 airplanes with 27 flying the line holding 2 spares. No plans to add to or reduce fleet further in 2009.

Cost Cutting

Administrative Assistant in STL gone 06/02/09
E.P. new IAD Flight Manager (7/1/09)
S.M. back to the line from RIC Flight Manager (7/1/09)
D.G and D.H STL Flight Managers (7/1/09)
If RIC domicile becomes "uneconomical" it will be "reevaluated"

Positive_Rate 04-17-2009 12:30 PM

There are 456 total on there as of April 1...now, going up the list to the ones that don't have a FUR next to their name we're at 339...DOH 6/4/07.

TBucket 04-17-2009 12:42 PM

Positive_Rate 04-17-2009 12:54 PM

I was in that June class. The rest of our class is furloughed in May.

Yeah, the latest furloughs go to march or april of 07... Soon there's going to be nothing left of us...

Herbie 04-17-2009 04:30 PM

The furloughs go into the April of 07 class, I was May, so I will be gone too. That really bites that S.M. is going out on the line and we are getting EP back in IAD. Just enough to make me glad I won't have to deal with it anymore. Best of luck to those that remain.

Yea ***...how does S.M. go back to the line and that little toad D.G. get to keep his flight manager spot. I know it's because he's in STL and S.M. is in RIC, but still...seniority means nothing here?

 Dude... Trans States? Hello?

:D Here's your sign!

flaps 9 04-17-2009 09:52 PM

Is it true that one of the members of the MEC was suspended recently?

skippy 04-17-2009 11:39 PM

yes, he was!

And i think the proper people ( IE MO governor, senator and HOR's) were notified b/c we dont want what happened a few years ago when they wrongfully terminated and targeted alpa elected union officials-- they lost tha one big time

Probably the same reason a certain someone was cherry picking CA bulid-ups in STL with FO seniority. No one there cares. We are just rented pack mules.
