I've actually heard rumors that there will be more furloughs in September. Don't shoot the messenger, but I do not think Republic will hire for a few years. It is now officially a shrinking airline with very little attrition. It's kind of like the legacies without the pay, work rules, or benefits.

Furloughs in september wouldn't surprise anyone. The not hiring for a couple of years statement is way off. Things change very quickly in this industry. Republic could go from furloughing to hiring in less than a month. Or they could go out of business. No way to tell.

Unless something drastic happens, expect more furloughs in September.

Didn't RAH recall a few months ago. I would be ****ed if I got recalled just to be furloughed again less than a year later.

heres a thought...it could be because republic doesnt recognize us as furloughed, according to them we are terminated with rehire preference so by republics screwed up thinking (you know the one, it justifies having outstation bases instead of hub bases) there are no furloughs!

Wrong. We're staffed where we need to be for the summer. We'll be fat come September.

Wrong? Ya now that we have recalled people, and like I said "possible" furloughs to come in Sept.

Actually they are running a skeleton crew of FO's until the crj's and some erj's peel off. They didn't want bring people back just to furlough them and the expense involved. Upside, I would think it would reset the unemployment clock for another 26weeks.
