Default International Jumpseating Shuttle

Does anyone from Shuttle know if I can ride the jumpseat from the US to an international location. I am trying to get home to MTY, ICAO MMMY, from ATL next Tuesday and the flight is oversold by 50 seats. Continental apparently cut their Mexican flying by 50 percent, ruling out any chances of me getting home. Anyone know the offical TSA rules? Or the Shuttle company rules? Thanks in advance.

You can't ride the actual jumpseat to an international destination. You can ride in the cabin while "jumpseating" but cannot occupy the cockpit jumpseat.

Actually, you can't ride the actual JS into the US. Outbound, the TSA doesn't care. However, the airline may restrict you to the cabin outbound.

Being an international commuter I ran into this only a few times. I have jumpseated on my own company's jumpseat both directions internationally, but Shuttle flies that route now. Looking for anyone with a shuttle FOM to see their guidance on OAL pilots jumpseating outbound. You can jumpseat out, with a seat in the cabin, on almost every airline except AA, and the cargo guys....Funny how AA and Eagle pilots can jumpseat in the back on international flights on Delta and DCI, but wont reciprocate... thats another thread!

Interesting, I was denied going from ORD-YOW a few weeks back...

According to my company(XJ) TSA (AKA the smurfs) do not allow riding in the jumpseat in either direction. We can't even ride on our own js international much less anyone else.

OK, I stand corrected. Apparently after reviewing our FOM, there was a change in April of this year restricting the JS for international to employees only. Guess I should read those changes more closely.

However, according to some rumblings from our JS coorsinator, the TSA is supposed to lift their restriction sometime soon. That said, their idea of soon and ours differs somewhat.

In order to sit in the cockpit j/s intl yu have to be listed as a crewmember on the Gen Dec....The only way you are going to get that to happen is if you work for that company.

At my company (NK), you can sit in an FA jumpseat int'l, but we don't allow OAL guys to sit up front.

We just got another reminder that even WE aren't allowed to sit in our OWN FA jumpseat domestically much less internationally.....
