ASA or AWAC?

Greetings all!

If given the choice between ASA and AWAC, which would you choose?

AWAC. Both are ok company's. But AWAC has a long history of being a top rated regional airline. I would talk to pilots at both companies before making a decision.

I'd say ASA because they're now owned by Skywest :D .

I've heard that AWAC isn't what it used to be, people are starting to abandon ship.

Most of us that jumped ship live out west and didn't want to move or suffer the long commute. It was still a good company when I left 8 months ago, especially if you live in domicile.

Yeah, SKW has consistently floated to the top in many ways, even during the hard times.

Do you wanna live in the south or east coast? PHL/DCA/ORF vs. ATL.

If you are going to commute (I do), AWAC is CASS and has a pretty good commuter clause. Not sure what the status of CASS at ASA is, but I'm pretty sure they don't have a commuter clause. Seems like that's a must-have item in their new contract...whenever that gets completed.

FO pay is slightly higher at AWAC, much higher the first year, but that is also subject to change with a new ASA contract. AWAC's contract, although concessionary, is one of the best in the 50 seat industry.

My $.02 is go with the first class date - your problem is a good one to have!

Just compare the 2 here is the asa page
http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...2005030564.htm

Looks like they are get 15 more planes in the next year.

I'd go to AWAC. More stability and better work rules (at least until after the ASA contract is settled).

Negotiations are stalling again and the MEC is talking about finally getting that strike ballot underway.

ASA is losing 13 700s to Skywest to operate out of SLC, but they are being replaced with 13 900s to operate out of ATL. ASA also gets 3 additional 200s for a net gain of 3 airplanes.

Thanks to all for the opinions, I have to make my decision within the week. Definitely lots to consider, is there anyone else with an opinion?
