Thank you to all that have sent a letter. As you may know the Senate held a hearing today in regards to many of these issues.

To all of you who come on APC to cry about the state of the industry and chose not to send this out; you may resume your regularly scheduled whining.

I sent Dorgan a letter today. Not in time for the hearing but I'm sure this whole debate is not over. Not by far.

You're right. It's just begun. Keep the pressure on, and the topic fresh in their minds. Right now, the politicians are just trying to answer the question,"Is there a problem, and if so, does it require new legislation?" You have the ATA, RAA, and other airline management interests saying,"Nope, no problem here." Then, in the other corner, you have ALPA and other Labor interests saying,"Yes, there is obviously a problem." If it's a cause that pilots believe in, then we should be a united force with ALPA and the other Labor interests in saying, "Yes, there is a problem; we are on the front lines, and this is why there is a problem." Just my take on the matter...

I sent him a personally written letter telling him I fly 76 passengers 1000 miles at a time and my salary is $21,600 a year.

Our letters are not going unheard. If you listened to the hearing yesterday, every issue was strongly addressed and it seemed like half the time Cohen did not have an answer for the committee.

Example: Capt. Prater had to intervene and answer the question for Cohen about first year compensation. You can tell Cohen was embarrassed to answer that question.

Keep the letters and phone calls flowing, we are on the right path.

It looks like another sanate hearing has been scheduled for July. We have to unite for this one. I understand the letter may not have been posted early enough for maximum participation but it made its way on to other forums. I believe the same person who wrote this leter will be working on another one for July. As soon as he posts that letter I will post it on here..

Stay tuned fellas...its time.
