That's because we take great pride in what we do and are cracking heads to do what needs to get done to make our little airline a better place to work!

That's it!

Like it or not APC, Colgan is growing. Colgan may have 1000 pilots in a few years if all Q options are exercised. So there are 2 options the current pilots can take:

1) Complain and moan about everything and continue to lower the standards of the regional industry.

2) Work to improve our little airline for ourselves and the pilots who will be coming on in years to come.

For me this is a no brainer. I want to do what we have to in order to make it better. Our union is off to a great start and the pilots who are involved currently are already doing a great job.

We are conducting our contract survey so our negotiations can begin soon.

I am optimistic about how things will look in the future.

And for the guy who said that Colgan pilots are "hostile and defensive," not the case at all. I was saying that it is always funny how some "Billy Bada$$" will post on these forums about how these pilots suck and these pilots are cool, and then email Chuck Colgan about how they would like to get into a class because they are furloughed will no call back in sight.

So is Colgan hiring or not? I got an e-mail from Chuck a couple of weeks ago saying the werent planning to hire until Dec.

I really don't know. I think they cancelled upgrade classes too. False alarm.

Just got an email from Colgan today saying they're going to hire a couple of classes now and 185 pilots in 2010.

I got the same e-mail. Who knows where this will go.

I don't understand, if you guys are furloughed, why IN THE WORLD would you subject yourself to another "1st year pay &QOL" at a regional. There are so many things you could do, and you would make more then a 1st year regional guy. This is a perfect opportunity for you furloughed guys to venture off and try something new, something different, you never know, you just might like it, and when your airline recalls you, you can stay at your new career or go back, but doing it all over again is CRAZY.

The sad thing is, Colgan management (any airline management really) is going to think their pay is great, I bet they get 1,000's of applications for these few crappy jobs<---------Not aimed at Colgan, any regional 1st year airline.

It drives me crazy when I talk to people and they say "but what else am I going to do"..............are you kidding me? I could think of a lot of things I would rather do and before you guys say there are no other jobs, I made more WORKING AT NORDSTROM'S part time, then I did at Colgan...............

I guess it depends on what Quality of Life means to you. If your quality of live is enhanced with money, perhaps this is not the job for you. If your quality of life is enhanced when you work with good people, and actually like your job, then apply. The job is what you make of it....LIFE is what you make of it, think something could be better, then work to change it. Constantly complaining about it just makes it worse. Ive had the best jobs of my life where I didn't make much money. Ask anyone who has been in the military, most had a job that they loved no matter the circumstances of money or hours worked. QOL is not about money to some people.

FYI, just my opinion, I don't work for Colgan........Yet! :)
