I hear they canned the FO right on the spot.

Not true; the company and the union have to have a meeting first before anything is decided. The future looks grim for this one. They may have releaved him of duty right away...

You have more recency and repetition on landing the plane, so do you not let your FO's land either? At Lakes the FO's do (or at least "did") those checks. It isn't difficult for anyone of average intelligence. I think it is fine that the Captains do it at SKW. Just don't act like you are king S#it on Turd mountain because you are the captain.

Well said Flex. At lakes the FO on the Brasilia dose EVERYTHING!!! Preflight, AC acceptance, FFOD's, paper work, clearances, postflight, you name it. The Captain gets the tiller, landing lights, and gets to hold up their fingers to signal which engine to start and thats about it!!

Gear up

The FO is a friend of mine.We went to college and used to fly together. I feel bad for the guy and would like to think that his mistake will be a lesson to all of us. I hope this will not end his career.

Please take it to PM's. The thread title makes this look like it just happened. Thread closed.
