Rumor: RAH to buy PNCL Corp.

MISSED THE "U" in bUY.

Heard it from a buddy who is works SOC in MEM for PNCL.

Usually a pretty credible source.

But......WHY?!?!

The only reason I can think of is PNCL has money issues come 2010, and RAH has a lot of it. They can move Colgan's Q options to LNYX.

Herbie 07-13-2009 07:01 AM

While it would most likely fit in with BB's bid to take over the world, I will have to see something a little more informative than the "I gotta buddy whose sister dates the brother whose sister is married to the chief pilots mom" bit. Sorry, but I like the bad news to at least hold water before I get depressed again.

DMEarc 07-13-2009 07:07 AM

He's a dispatcher. I don't see how the move would make sense either.

Outlaw2097 07-13-2009 07:07 AM

they have enough properties...can they start building houses or hotels yet?

Chief pilot's mom swings that way huh? ;)

Nice catch! :D

usmc-sgt 07-13-2009 07:30 AM

Sure, why not? Who cares. PNCL/Colgan is a mess anyway so we might as well throw it into a large mixing bowl and see what comes from the recipe. Not to mention that it would be very comforting to see an innocent baby animal on the tail during my preflight.

Hey, I'm just keeping up with the times man.

BoilerUP 07-13-2009 08:55 AM

LAST thing Bedford & Heller want are 100+ more 50 seat jets...

wuflingpu 07-13-2009 09:05 AM

If they are released to strike and big daddy D culls them from the herd. It would be a cheap investment to puchase and pick apart. I don't think a bunch of leased 50 seaters would be enough to protect them from being bought and dismanteled.

Just looked at that, didn't realize they had so many 50's. I wonder if the plan is to replace that flying with more 170's for delta. Not sure if Delta's scope will allow it or if they are already maxed out on their "big RJ's".

DAL/NW owns all of the -200's, 9E only owns a handful of 900's and I'm not too sure what Colgan owns and leases.

Rightseat Ballast 07-13-2009 09:34 AM

RAH has acquired or is trying to acquire Mokulele, Frontier, and Midwest. In all three cases, there were numerous financial transactions and published articles detailing the actual or intended purchase of control. There has been no public information regarding RAH and Pinnacle, so I would say that there is no truth to this rumor.

Another reason BB would not want Pinnacle right now is because of the negative public perception of Colgan Air in the wake of the Buffalo crash. RAH is trying to sell its own tickets on Midwest and Frontier, and does not need to have a black cloud floating over its head. Articles and news stories about Colgan will continue to come out over the next year, and in each of them it would say "Colgan Air, owned by RAH, who also operates Frontier and Midwest airlines..." Too much bad press tied to Pinnacle for now.

sinsilvia666 07-13-2009 09:39 AM

we will have to change the forum names to;

Major
Cargo
Republic (Sweatshop flying)
Military

hahaha

I don't think there was anything about frontier until the day they came out with the announcement.

Anyway, as far as the Colgan thing, they could probably dissolve that company and move the Q4's over to Lynx.

So I guess that means they are going to buy US airways too?

Hilarious. I've always wondered if Lynx pilots have an inferiority complex flying "Baby Frontier".

Pvt. Message me the dispatchers name...Ill tell you if they are indeed credible....

Airsupport 07-13-2009 05:30 PM

this is in no way true. after rah purchased frontier then republic we all started saying that we were next. i can guarantee i know the day this rumor started at pinnacle and it happened in memphis ops. someone probably wasn't in the conversation, heard us joiking that rah was going to buy pinnacle, and then took it and told a few other people and then before you know it was all around. i have even heard it come back to me and when i ask where they heard it they say some "senior" guys were talking about it in memphis ops. lol.

But incase that isn't good enough lets just think about it for a second.

1st pinnacle has 124 leased crj's. if they bought us those planes would go away and they would have nothing, since they are delta's planes now.

2nd Rah is buying up airbus' and 717's. big planes, not rj's.

3rd Pinnacle has a huge payment coming up. so we wont be cheap. infact it would cost more to pay off the debt and buy pinnacle than it is going to cost them to purchase frontier.

its not happening. no one would touch us with a 10 ft pole right now.

Rama04 07-13-2009 06:56 PM

For those reasons, 9E is cheap!
Same goes for the bad publicity ... it just makes Pinnacle cheaper ...
Im not saying I think that this is going to happen BUT, RAH is being kind of smart ... they are taking advantage of the **** market and buying market share.
Again, I am not saying whats right or wrong, ethical or not ... just calling it as it is ...
Safe guys ...

And yet, RAH considered buying American Eagle, Expressjet, and Comair!

We like to call ourselves "Little Brother". We are also pressing for our next tail to be a Chupacabra. That'll help our self esteem issues.

Hey BB, since we bought Frontier AND Midwest, does that mean the wife's pregnant with twins?

Are you a pilot or do you work at a gas station? You seem to like to toss the gas all over the place and fan the flames. Since you "were" not talking about Midwest and decided to bring them up any way, I can not comment on Midwest. They are in an entirely different situation.

Who do you work for Xtreme? I would like to see the glass house you are throwing stones from.

Hey...everybody keeps saying they want a national seniority list...BB is just trying to appease you!!!!

Ok...now you can go back to your regularly scheduled RAH bashing.

Flyboy8784 07-14-2009 06:17 PM

How much money does RAH have that BB can spend all this money to buy other airlines? Do you guys own any of the E-Jets or are they all leased?

HercDriver130 07-15-2009 04:51 PM

RAH own the vast majority of the Ejets...

All EJets are owned with the exception of the 190's. 5 year lease with GE Capital.
