Default Things are so bad....

This must be the sign the bottom is in and things will turn up in the next few months. Seriously, with all of the talk of more furloughs at Comair, XJet, and ASA, this has to be the sign of capitulation firing that comes at the end of a recession. On that note, Merrill Lynch issued a note today saying the recession has ended. Had to end on some good news.

I'll provide a great deal on some subprime mortgages so everyone can afford to buy their own star

The night is always darkest before the dawn.

Sure, financial notes are useless to you and don't provide much optimism if you're trying to figure out how to pay your bills and provide for your family...but with a little luck Q4 will be flat to insignificantly up and Q1'10 will show slow but sustainable economic growth.

Let's all hope the cash that bailed out of the stock market starts to come back in...with higher stock prices will come more available cash and financing for companies to grow, requiring jobs to be (re)created, and helping all industries (especially aviation, which is so sensitive at large to economic pressures) start to recover some of the large losses over the last 12 months.

Yes, more jobs will be lost in the airlines over the rest of the year, and many of those will be at the regional level...but if we can get through this (and we will) then things will start to turn. It'll never be August 2001, but things WILL get better.

Good luck to us all...
