Waterski Recalls

Rumor round the farm is a few recalls...back on line in September...anyone confirm?

minimwage4 07-28-2009 01:28 PM

They'll get to look forward to your avatar! Any recall is good news. Does this have to do with the 5 airplanes that are coming back from Mexico?

ScaryKite 07-28-2009 02:04 PM

good to hear, hope your guys can get back to work..good luck!

Positive_Rate 07-28-2009 02:24 PM

Just spoke to one of those recalled. He said EP said 8 or so recalls to start end of Aug/early Sept...no word on upgrades, but I imagine those are coming as well...we're so damn short.

Not a lot, but better than nothing.

StrikeTime 07-28-2009 02:38 PM

Thats good news gentlemen. Wish you all the best of luck. When did last group get furloughed?

TBucket 07-28-2009 03:30 PM

Last group got F'ed in May... I hear 8 coming back. Awesome news...

undflyboy06 07-28-2009 03:45 PM

I had a feeling that they would start recalling soon with a lot of pilots quitting and a few getting fired.

To those 8 that are going back on the line I wish you the best of luck and fly safe.

ehe2 07-28-2009 04:08 PM

Were only getting one of the Mexican birds back.

Salukipilot4590 07-28-2009 04:46 PM

Wow only eight...better than nothing or the status quo we've been hearing about lately!

Congrats to you guys! Live it up for me!

Foxcow 07-28-2009 04:54 PM

Maybe United is putting pressure on management with all of the late/lack of crew related delays and cancellations. It amazes me that people answer their phones to get juniored.

Congrats to the lucky 8.

Herbie 07-28-2009 06:00 PM

That is the only good news that I have heard come out of this place in a long time. Still leaves about 3 ahead of me to get recalled, but good deal all the same. Good luck to those heading back, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

DryMotorBoatin 07-28-2009 06:35 PM

Still leaves about 130 infront of me.

Randolph 07-28-2009 06:37 PM

Are the rest of the birds in Mexico coming to TSA? What's the latest? I'm asking for future recall reasons, no intent to hijack the thread!

Foxcow 07-28-2009 07:01 PM

According to some mechanics, of the 5 that are coming back, 4 are being re-leased to a Mexican airline.

Randolph 07-28-2009 07:33 PM

Dumb. Is one new plane really going to make a difference? Good news to those on the street, best of luck to all.

Positive_Rate 07-28-2009 07:45 PM

833 (XA-SAC) is down in the Mom & Pop paint shop in MEZ right now...wonder what color it's being painted?

I guess it doesn't really matter, it'll just peel off in 2 months like the rest of them have anyways...cheap.

Yeah, 'cause... You know... It worked so well the first time, why not try it again?

RuttR 07-29-2009 04:01 AM

Apparently, EP has been saying 10-15 upgrades as well.

skippy 07-29-2009 04:36 AM

so they furlough 8 guys for about 3 months? at about $2000 a month for a total of about 48K plus whatever per diem and benes cost?

Im sure the unemployment vacation was nice but thats still BS what they did, i hope you remember that and give MIN EFFORT when you get back online

Has anyone furloughed last year been able to log into the employee section?

Time2Fly 07-29-2009 10:05 AM

Can someone clarify for me the difference between the 158 and the 108 furloughed from TSA on the APC Regional page?

Copperhed51 07-29-2009 10:21 AM

Yeah, I'd also like to know the official number of furloughs. I don't think I'd go back right now if I was recalled but I'm still curious just how far down the list I am. Also curious how many other people won't go back of they get recalled. It was nice to be able to keep track when I still had access to the employee website but now that they've cut off access for furloughees, I have no idea what's happening.

I know many people around the time I was furloughed that have moved on to other jobs that gave up seniority, Gojet, CFI etc. that said they are not coming back. Whatever the number, I would probably take out at least 25% especially the bottom half.

Atreyu 07-29-2009 10:25 AM

Most Junior person on the master list is 444 hired 4/2008

If they recalled 8, the must junior person is number 309 hired 4/07
As of now, most junior person is 301 from 4/07

I'm also assuming the 8 recalled (if it's a good number) must be from firings and quitting. I can think of 5 right away who have quit, or have been fired in the past 3 mos

8 recalls would probably mean 4 or 5 upgrades. I don't even think we're short FO's in IAD

Can someone pm me the seniority list. You can delete the names if you want, but leave the five digit employee numbers so I can find myself. Thanks.

That basically sums up my entire career at TSA.

So your "friends", or at least some of them went to GoJet after being furloughed from TSA ?!

Great friends....

I'm glad that your friends got jobs in this environment.

What makes you think that they're not great friends?

Not in this thread please. We are talking about TSA recalls and don't want the thread to be reduced to TSA gojets arguments and eventually locked.

While we're on the subject of recalls can some please answer a few questions?

Is there ever an option to defer your recall and if so how would that work?

What training is given to someone being recalled?

If you were F'd within your first year do you have any union protection upon recall?

These questions are specific to TSA as I understand answers may vary depending on company contract.

wonkable 07-30-2009 11:44 AM

according to flight manager DH, they are expecting to have to call 2-3 people for each position needed. Also 10+ upgrades (more than the amount of recalls), and domiciles assigned as per opening (willy-nilly)

just advising
