FRAPA...(Fedup Regional Airline Pilot Assoc.)

Considering all thats happening in the airline industry especially with us the small guys. A buddy of mine came up with a suggestion to see how many of us barbie doll jet drivers would actual be interested in having a meet and greet. Have a beer, play a round of golf or just hang out at a beach or pool side and have a BBQ. This is by no means a way to de-rail Alpa or Teamsters. This will the first FRAPA gathering open to all pilots and we can network and hopefully build ties that will last a lifetime. This event and gathering is not company specific. If we get enough people interested we will post details where and when. We can make it a Friday and saturday event or a Saturday and Sunday event. A friend of mine in the hotel industry advised me that if we can get enough folks to come out, then as a group we could get a block of rooms reserved and it will one man for himself at an agreed upon rate! I think this will be an awesome event and we can end it with a formal dinner. I am willing to buy a few Kegs, if this works out for those that attend so beer is on me! Contact me at [email protected] if interested Thanks and be safe out there

Just do what we do when going out on an overnight......just say you work for AirTrain! ;)

I'm definitely interested, great idea! I wrote an e-mail to the address you gave, hope we get enough to make it happen!!

theaviator 08-25-2009 04:04 PM

I think it would be a heck of a lot of fun. As long as us furloughed guys are invited too!

Definately furloughed pilots are welcomed, hopefully if we have a good turn out the first time we can have hr folks from interested carriers have a job fairs at one event in the early hours. Guys I want this to be a moment where we can just bond without fear of misrepresenting our carriers. We have guys that are furloughed that could still use our sympathy and maybe those of us that sit on a hiring team can shade light on whats going on in our company's near or distant future. We are not trying to attract bad attention to ourselve Rick!

I can't speak for JetRecruiter, but if the answer is no... I'll sneak you a few beers!

BTW, I'd be happy to attend... Asuming there are some girls around. I suggest some sort of college town. At least college girls still think pilots make a lot of money!

This is a great idea. Where is it planned at?.

Great idea. I highly suggest any (all) of you check out the link below. Event is being held Oct. 19th, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.

Network Jetcareers

Also, if you're interested, the next link will provide even more information.

Network JC threads

This event is a social gathering of pilots held in Las Vegas every year. I'll be in attendance....this will be my fourth year in a row. It's a great time, very casual, lots to do, lots of adult beverages to be consumed, hotels are über-cheap this year, etc...

It's a good time. :D

Zapata 08-25-2009 07:32 PM

Why don't you hold it at a frat house. Nobody will seem out of place!:D

Try to find a sponsor like Bud Lite, Miller, Jeager, or anyone else. Then, scout college campus and find hot Shot-girls to work the event in sexy FA outfits! If your having trouble with that, just go on craigslist and hire some hookers to attend!!

Vagabond's Coffee Shop!

Folks we have just received our first invite to attend an opening of a coffee shop for one of our APC brother in Seattle. He has extended his shop for us to have a meet and greet and share in the joy of his new venture. I for one support any pilot who gets enough balls to start up business that will be a second life line and as a back up. The event will be held on the 18th of September and I encourage all that are able to show up, to do so. The more the better and there is also plenty to do in Seattle. lets support Vagabond get his new venture of the ground. RSVP [email protected]

Change all the *his* and *him* to *hers* and you will be able to find the sponsor :) SHE is also a lawyer - so mind your Ps and Qs! Sounds like it could be a good time! Hope some of can make it to the FRAPA meeting at the coffee shop. GOOD LUCK!

Ok, now that we got rid of all the flamebaiting and namecalling on this thread, I hope we can get back on point.

In this thread, I am planning a "soft opening" of my new coffee shop anyway and thought it would kill two birds with one stone to have this meeting at my shop on September 18 if the planning and logistics all work out.

I believe that is all the thread starter wanted to say or do. So if you can make it to SEA for this, you have a venue for it. Google "Tacoma hotels" if you need rooms. I know there is a Red Lion nearby, and many many cheap and sleazy motels along S. Tacoma Way. I am a coffee shop owner, not a motel operator. I'm not your Mom either. :D

HAHAHAHAHA, I had to take a double-take of my memory because I thought maybe I was wrong and he was right. Thanks for reminding me I'm not completely crazy.

Tailhook for regional guys, this could be interesting.:D

I do see it's for "barbie doll jet drivers", so how about a FRAPropPA for the lowest of the low.:)

Maybe www.TurboPROPaganda.com can make the sticker for FRAPA. lol

Anyone that wants to grab a beer in Houston send a PM and we'll ht up West Alabama Icehouse. It's a great place in this weather :D

Also if you're not from the area then you have to try a Zeigenbach(spelling) and a St. Arnold's. If you're in on a Sat I'll take those that can make it to the brewery. $5 and you get a tour plus 5 beers which is more than enough.

Sounds great except with PBS here, I will never see another weekend off again so I'll have to pass.

We are working on putting together a poll on what days would be ideal for almost everyone and we plan around those days. Thanks to everyone that has responded and we are still seeking more interested parties to sign up. The e-mail is [email protected] We will notify everyone via email of our upcoming activities.

Be safe out there and remain professional!

Maybe we can ask ACORN to help us out and right off the expenses.
