Who is more ****ed off at their MEC, MAG / 9E

Judging by the contract that Mesa pilots have and what Pncl pilots voted down on their TA sounds and looks like they had the same Alpa NC sitting in on the table for both deals. lucky enough 9E grow some, and flashed the turd away before Alpa could tell 'em its a brownie!!

I didn't read the text, but looked at all the graphs. It's a nice quick glance to compare pay and contractual language to see who is attempting to keep the bar at least waist level.

Their little graphs are not always right, though...Skywest has cancellation pay (on a leg by leg basis) and PBS as well.

I like how Chautauqua has PBS and also doesn't have PBS. Interesting... Maybe I shouldn't use PBS.

Last time I checked we have line guarantee at Eagle. Guess the company has been overpaying me for the past year.

As far as that comparison paper goes, the MAG MEC is guilty of gross failure to check to their facts or outright lying, one of the two. I don't think they checked ANY of their research, probably just sat down over dinner and made that stuff up based on what they thought they remembered hearing from offline jumpseaters over the years.

MAG pilots: Don't buy it.

Yep, so does AWAC.

However, I loved this line at the end of that document;

"As you can see from this overview, the Mesa Air Group
pilots have made signifcant progress toward our goal
of becoming the best in the industry".

The day that happens is the day I give up in disgust and stop flying for a living.

It more than likely came from ALPA E&FA. They usually know what they're talking about, but sometimes stuff slips through the cracks if they don't have the latest LOAs and updates to each contract. I can see SkyWest being wrong because there's no real contract, just a policy manual that gets updated a lot more than a contract would.

The one part that is a bit misleading is the bit about the line guarantee. Sure, ASA doesn't have one, but we don't need one. We have 100% cancellation pay, as well as pay protection for trips removed for training/management/rescheduling/etc. All pay protection is lost credit on a leg-by-leg basis. So basically there is no way that you'd end up the month with any less than what was on your final schedule, and often you end up with much more. I'd suspect most airlines are that way, even if they don't have an explicit line guarantee.

Unfortunately Rick, most do. It's awful.

There are a lot of po'd people at MAG, but the problem is that most will not do anything about it! They just let the company JRA them, they let them do whatever they want to them. They don't hold the union accountable for anything.

Believe me, if I thought that by becoming a non-paying dues member that my career at another future alpa carrier wouldn't be jeopardized, I'd do it in a heart beat. I hate the fact I pay money to those scumbags and I get absolutely nothing for it in return. I know where the money goes too, I've seen the balance sheets.

If I had the time to run for FO rep I'd do it. But I can't guarantee that I'd be able or willing to allocate enough personal time to do the job properly. A lot of our reps have that same problem, but they don't care enough to put ALPA above their other priorities. If you are going to be a rep or another MEC member, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO, so I don't want to hear any excuses of why you can't do this and why you can't answer your phone. Heck half of them turn their phones off at 5pm Friday and don't return calls until Monday. :mad:
