One regional flying for another regional. Awesome.

WTH??????? BB and JO are the biggest arch enemies to one other!

Maybe it was cheaper to have mokulele go back to Mesa seeing they owed lots of $$ to go for stuff last year. Before they became part of Republic. Maybe this will also end the codeshare agreement with island air, so Mesa can avoid continuing a huge scope violation

It's the end of the world :)
I personally think that Republic feels it can make more money at the mainland with those planes. But correct me but didn't MAG and Mokulele have a fallout a while back? |
sure did
Republic Airways entered Hawaii's inter-island service market last October when it purchased a stake in Mokulele, and eventually owned nearly 90% of the small carrier's shares. Soon afterwards, Mokulele sued Go airlines for alleged anticompetitive behavior, which followed a separate lawsuit filed by Mesa accusing Mokulele of not paying more than $390,000 in fuel costs. I was as skeptical as anyone when I saw this title but it sounds to me like republic is getting the H out of hawaii and Mesa is just the exit strategy there.
I agree with this one. Use Mesa as an exit strategy to get the F out. IMO, SD wants to accomodate whatever remaining passengers that have already booked on Mokulele in good faith and when the last passenger is accomodated he's going to pull the plug as an investor with Mesa and wash his hands from the whole Hawaii adventure. Here is my layman's way of looking at it. Two enemy ships sinking next to one another. Yours is sinking faster. Form a joint venture with the enemy, get all your crew and passengers on the enemies ship and help bail. The rescue boat arrives and you get all your people on the rescue boat first. Then you bail out leaving the enemy ship to sink alone. |
Whats up with the go! moku stock? How much is 25% really worth?? And the delisting?? All this sounds like a date in court to me. Scott Durgan said on tv that he is working hard to protect the contract ground service workers. Paul Skellon says that go! will hardly change its flights to cover the other carrier sales. If you can't fly go! aloha you can fly go! mokulele????????? do you think Republic may provide different aircraft for the new airline to operate in the future????

We've got a good "ship" though, because the naysayers claim we've been sinking for 3 years now. Just admit it: BB jumped into this, it wasn't fruitful and he's now getting out. Mesa will benefit by carrying their passengers on the CRJ's and the caravan's will resume flying. |
