Current production turboprops

What regional turboprops are still in production other than the Q400?

BoilerUP 10-14-2009 11:36 AM

Q200, Q300, Atr 42/72.

goaround2000 10-14-2009 11:38 AM

I thought Bombardiar shut down the 300 line thats why they are so hard to find?

The Q200/300 are still listed on Bombardier's website...

And because I'm bored and the magazine (2009 Business & Commercial Aviation Purchase Planning Handbook) is right in front of me:

Pricing:
Q200 - $20.155M
Q300 - $20.155M
Q400 - $28.676M
ATR42-500 - $14.9M
ATR72-500 - $18.0M

CRJ-200 - $29.737M
E145XR - $26.5M

CRJ700 - $36.534M
CRJ900 - $40.416M
E170 - $31.5M
E175 - $33.5M

You left out the ATR-600. Although the Q200-Q300 are listed I don't think they are currently in production. Bombardier seems to be acting as a broker for these models.

The -600 ATR hasn't been certified yet and isn't in production...though it is coming.

In fact, the prototype was just unveiled on Oct. 1st.

Correct, but I believed it's been priced already (I'll find the link), and it's safe to say that it will take over the 500 models.

No doubt...but the -600s weren't in the 2009 B&CA Purchase Planning Handbook. :D

And I haven't been able to find a Bombardier press release saying that Q200/300 production actually has ceased, although there were some reports from 2008 that said production would cease in May 2009.

I guess the better question would be, how big of an order would it take to fire up the production line for the Q200 and Q300? I think it's a bit like the XR for Embraer, theoretically they are still for sale, but I wonder how many birds would have to be ordered for them to fire up the old production line?

BTW, how did you get a copy of the B&CA Handbook? Do you have a subscription? Just curious, it sounds like good stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you'll ACTUALLY know the answer to this.

Are the 145XR and Legacy built on separate lines?

As far as our company goes, I though that Embraer has made it clear that if our management wanted to exercise the 100 options we had for XR's, Embraer would rather just convert them to another currently produced type than spool up the XR line again.
