I haven't had to send mine in for any repairs yet, but know other guys that have. From what I've heard though, none of them have had to pay for the repairs and were given new loaners while theirs were getting fixed. I like it. I've only flown turboprops so far which are of course loud as hell and it looks like I'll be flying one for at least another 15 years, so for me it was worth the grand. |
I fly turbo prop and love the Bose. Funny, I just found out about that dimming feature too after 3 years! My headset also cracked but I sent them to Bose and they fixed the plastic, replaced leather ear cups and replaced the sheepskin head pad for free. They even paid for the shipping. Under warranty of course

I love mine and I know the price is on the ridiculous side but the customer service is amazing. I sent mine in a few months ago and got them refurbished back to like new condition in 5 days. Just had to pay the shipping one way.

I've had my Bose X for 4 years now, flying light twins for a year and in the CRJ for 3, i don't think i can go to any other headseat... The only downside is, it's hard to fit into the flight case.

What!*! 3 years of that little light driving me CraZy!... LoL..after trying out the dim feature it does dim but not as much as I would like. Other than that the headset is very comfortable. I have used it in a Metro III, and now the Saab 340.

Ok that's funny about the blinking light. Still gonna keep my uflymike I just ordered. It's lighter and takes up less space. I'm running out of space in my flight bag. Mesaba Management, please please stop stepping over a dollar to save a dime and install the EFB's you purchased with the 900's!!!!!!! I'm not getting younger and this bag is getting heavier!!

the ear cups started leaving black stuff all over my white shirts and the ANR was going out( kept hearing morse code) I sent it in for new ear cups and to get the ANR fixed expecting about a $300 bill with shipping. I got them back no charge and they replaced everything except the Mic, the Mic dust cover, and the black plastic that says Bose. You cannot not beat the customer service. |
I would recommend the Bjorn 2500. They hard core represent in the plane, club or car.

I've had my Bose for about 3 or 4 years, and I can't imagine going back to David Clarks. Don't know how bad the CRJ is for prolonged amounts of time up front on noise, but the Bose has really quieted down the Dash8 for me. Had a recall come out on the cords, but the customer service department was on top of it and it didn't cost anything to get fixed.
Just like xjsaab I had the 'stress-fracture' problem on the plastic rod that holds one of the earcups on. Just paid the postage one way and it was fixed and returned in about a week. Summary: Best Christmas gift I've gotten in a long time. |

Bose X Pros: Very Light Very Comfortable Low Squeeze Pressure Best noise canceling there is. (even compared to the Lightspeed Zulu) ANR last about 30hrs. Cons: If the ANR batteries die it is more quiet to take off the headset, no exaggeration...The headset is useless without the ANR (a little exaggeration) I'm in the Beech 1900 5 days a week... I bought a 20$ set of rechargeable batteries, so I never want for batteries...and the really payed for themselves. (4$ for a 4 pac of AA/per month...) |
