SEATTLE – A plane belonging to a small airline made an emergency landing at Boeing Field Friday afternoon after hitting a bird.

The Sea-Port Airlines plane left Portland for Boeing Field. The airline says the plane hit a bird at 10,000 feet, cracking the outer part of the windshield.

All other systems continued to operate normally.
The plane, with two pilots and five passengers, was already descending toward its destination when the impact happened.

The Pacific Northwesterners have just asked the FAA to put a probe in to investigate the benefits of placing transponders on birds in the Portland and Seattle area. They want to stop the senseless killings of birds so that other parts of the country may benefit. Furtther, the FAA believes this is a worthy project in an effort to save lives of humas too. More to come.

I can see the headlines now: "PETA to sue pilots for bird strike. Lawsuit embraced by King County Politicians".

"Why doesn't someone just make like an umbrella thingy to like point in front of the airplane to like push the birds like outta the way?"
