Default DCA to IAD?

I might need it for backup commute tomorrow. What are the options for going from DCA-IAD? Right now the only one I know of for sure is supershuttle I think? and it costs $25. Are there any other shuttle services? I'm trying to avoid the public transportation route because it will be way too much of a hassle with a rollaboard and a flight case.

everyone who commutes that route takes the train to the rosslyn stop, then takes the bus over to the airport. It's about an hour commute.

If it's gonna be too much of a "hassle", a cab ride will cost you around $80

That's different than the Blue Line to Rosslyn/Orange Line to West Falls Church/Washington Flyer bus to IAD that so many AWACers used when I worked there.

Is the bus from Rosslyn a MetroBus route?

Take the Metro to West Falls Church, and then catch the Washington Flyer outside. Half price for the bus ride for crew members, in or out of uniform.

This is the best way. Peak hours will cost about $3.35 for the metro and $4 for the bus. If you hit it right, should take about an hour. The kicker is if you just miss the bus, It runs every 1/2 hour. Off peak and weekends can take 1-1 1/2 hrs.

Isn't there one of those Greyhond bus type "coaches" that has service from DCA to IAD? I've used the service once, but that was some years back. In fact, I think I caught this coach somewhere in downtown DC and from there we headed to IAD. Cost then was about $25.

That is the Washington Flyer that runs from the West Falls Church metro stop to IAD. They stopped going from DCA to IAD direct after 911

OK... so which metro do I get on at DCA? (or is it all going one way from DCA, sorry never tried it.) Metro Falls Church is the stop I need to get off at.. and this Washington Flyer bus is right outside the station? Do I need exact change for either the metro/bus?

Take the blue line train and get off at Rosslyn. Switch to the Orange line train (It will say to Vienna) Get off at the West Falls Church station.
Go down the escalator and turn left. The Bus stop is right there. You will pay when you get to IAD. I think the bus leaves at 15 and 45 past the hour but you can go online at Washington Flyer. Com and check their schedule. You will buy a faircard for the metro and do not need exact change but any change you get will be in coins so at least have a $5 bill to use. The Bus will have change for anything. Hope that helps
