you kidding me, I don't WANT CAL'S work rules, XJT has far better work rules than CAL................
some of you guys need to educate yourselves and realize that ALL REGIONALS are not the same........ caborder2001, you are way way way way way off my friend, The pay is obviously a lot higher, but thats where it stops. Would I rather work at CAL, yes but XJT still has a better contract |

That's more of an ALPA/Union thing I think. Why if I work under the union named ALPA as a contractor is it that I'm treated differently by each airline I work for? That makes no sense. Pipe layers, electricians, steel workers, machinists, etc all seem to have the same pay, and work rules no matter who they work for as long as they pay their dues to the same union. In fact I think (don't quote me") that these union workers are phrohibited from working for less than bargained for to avoid undercutting. I'm not sure if this applies to independent contractors. Of course these guys get to choose which ever union they want to use and we are forced to be part of a union and have no choice what so ever. Pretty convenient if you ask me.
I guess we have no one to blame but ourselves. So we can talk about it on a forum all day but unless someone truly takes a stand, nothing will ever come close to changing. |

yeah, they have some guys who helped with C '04 at Express over at CAL now and they are going for some really good stuff in their new contract |

Nothing new though, the contract at my former employer was negotiated in the late 90's, the work rules in that CBA were better what UAL had pre contract 2000. |

An association does not take all my money, and then give me back what they want. I pay a due to an association. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but ALPA members pay directly to ALPA, not to their "local". ATA is an association of airlines. They pay a due to be a member. The US is a member of the UN and NATO. All our tax money doesn't go to these entities and then "reimbursed" to the US. |
