I just bought a pair at dsw for 75. So light. Pretty comfy! Quality isn't as nice as Ecco that I have but it's half the price! Thx

Before you wear any of these send them through TSA ck point to get a complimentary scan
They will confirm the presence of metal

Just bought a pair of Ecco and I am super impressed. Had a guy I'm flying with show me his pair of 2 1/2 years. Barely any sole missing. Their pricey but worth it since we do wear them a lot.

Bostonian FlexLite

Get them from Nordstrom Rack for about $60, lightest shoes on this planet.

They'll last you 12 months as an FO and 2 years as a CA as long as you keep them clean (like most men should).

I say again Bostonian FlexLite from Nordstrom Rack

I've had these for about 6 months now, the best dress shoe I've worn yet. Highly recommend.

ECCO's. Last forever, don't have a metal shank. I've had a pair for 4 years.

Good Airport Friendly Shoes

Any Johnston & Murphy shoe. Like Ecco, they're pricey, but they last forever, have no metal shanks, and are ultra comfortable. If you stop into any one of their stores in the airport, you get a discount too.

Can we confirm that the Bostonian FlexLite have no shank in them?

Yes, they have no shank period.

Solid sole.

They DO wear out but at 40-60 bucks a pair they're definitely what we regional pilots need.

As an FO I could expect a pair to last 12-18 months without trouble and I'm thinking double that as a CA now that I don't have to walk through glycol 6 times a day.

I agree.. I have black Johnston Murphy Lesalle's.. I bought two pair when I first started as an FO 3 years ago. They are perfectly broken in and still look new. They shine up really well and display professionalism. They run about 275 a pair, but they will last forever. No shanks and they feel like I'm in comfy slippers all day.

Don't be that dork that buys some crap at Payless Shoes just cause they're cheap. Maybe I'm old fashioned about the uniform, but shoes are important.

+1 for Ecco's and I like Dr. Marten 1461's (black with black stitching).
