Another shot at Roger Cohen. If it's not that expensive to get a hotel room near (insert major airport here), then why don't the airlines put their pilots up in a hotel the night before their trip starts? Yes, I know why the airlines don't do this, but in an ideal world that's what I would have asked Cohen in response to his whole "just get a hotel at Newark" answer.
And what about the Pinnacle president's comments to the father of a Colgan 3407 crash victim? "We fixed it?" The incredible insensitivity and just cold nature of that statement astounds me.
It was a very good show that I think spelled out lots of the issues in plain language to normal people. What I wish they had discussed in a little more detail is how consumer demands have caused the shift the industry has experienced since deregulation.

"Safety is the number one priority. There is no airline, no matter what the business arrangement, that would ever operate any aircraft, um at any time, um, um, and risk the safety of the passengers, um, and crew"
-- Roger Cohen (is that his name?)
What a ridiculous statement.

It would be a lot easier if ALL of the pilot groups would join the fight. Not to mention any names because I wouldn't want to call out Republic, Mesa, or Gojets but you guys are smart enough to figure it out.

Cohen was not only in a tanning bed. That was a top of the line, pumpkin orange spice spray tan! With a beautiful glow may I add. Thats what is important in this idustry. He was caught off guard by a great PBS question, and as calculated, answered like a moron.
