PenAir is a good place to work if you want to spend 3 to 4 years in Dillingham or King Salmon after spending 8 months on a metro in Anchorage, before you can come back to ANC as a captain.
Era, on the other hand, has a much nicer schedule in my opinion, with good people there as well as at Pen.
