Heard through the grapevine that management gave notice to the pilots that they are going to throw out their contract and impose their terms. Dunno what the date is. Best of luck to you guys! (and gals!) What management did to you should be criminal.

Judge: Mesaba can void labor contracts
Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal - 12:31 PM CDT Friday
Mesaba Airlines can void its contracts with its three largest unions, a bankruptcy judge ruled Friday.
Voiding the contracts would allow Mesaba to impose its own contract terms. The airline has said it needs to trim labor costs by 19.4 percent as part of its plan to emerge from bankruptcy.
Judge Gregory Kishel said Mesaba must give the unions 10 days notice if it plans to throw out the current contracts.
Mesaba's pilots, flight attendants and mechanics have said they might strike if the airline voids their contracts.
Mesaba, a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based MAIR Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: MAIR), flies regional routes for Eagan-based Northwest Airlines Corp. (Pink Sheets: NWACQ). Mesaba filed for bankruptcy last October, a month after Northwest did so.

this is just getting sad that in order to get what you want you simply go into bankruptcy then your allowed to dictate your new terms to your employees
someone needs to make the government known that you cant trim below minimum wage already! start speaking up people, this is getting ridiculous

Perhaps what they should do is to shutdown the airline? Supposedly the judge would not have allowed Mesaba to throw out the contract unless they will fail without the change. My employer had to close and I can tell you that it is much better to stay employed at a reduced rate.

Well now I see you are self employed so let the rest of us fight for fair wages.
Doctors are not taking pay cuts because snot nose punks with rich daddies are paying for Med School. Why should we take a cut. When those same punks think $15,000 a year is enough to fly airplanes.
Shutting the airline down is a damn good idea and if management thought for one minute the pilots would do it things would never get this far out of hand. It would be thier pockets that would be getting thin. Not the flight crews and mechanics.
If you want poverty stricken pilots flying your family around so be it not me thank you. We have worked and continue to work too hard and too long to get here and then have to listen to someone say I'll do it for less because the President and 40 other VP's can't keep the beech house if they don't get the bonuses. It's Bull**** and it MUST STOP!!!!!!!
On a 45 minute trip the other day the captain and I figured everyone in the back paid the the flight crew less than $3 each. That may be something on a 747 but on a beech 1900 or even a EMB 145 that is not enough.
I say these Bastards should have to go through recurrent training every 6 months on running an airline and if they fail put them on the street with a black mark on their resume.
Best Wishes to the Mesaba guys. I'll walk with you when JO tries screwing us again.

What makes all this sickening is that there are more people flying today than pre-9/11. Where is all the money going? I bet I could list a few places. You people would not like to hear some of them either. I will give you a hint, if the age is extended to 65, then things will not get any better. Another hint, it is not cheap to drive to the airport if you know what I mean.
Too many things making this soup taste bad, but I will not let it get me down. It will get better. That is the way this industry works. Lots of ups and downs.
