That's right, the word "Forbidden" was actually used.

In a memo. About speech. To professionals.

I guess "prohibited" was too soft, S.TF.U was too blue collar, and "outlawed" was too harsh?

Must be working, crews are in compliance. Rode a Comair flight today, oops, Delta Connection flight.... Announced as "this is Delta Connection flight xxxx to JFK" No mention of Comair.... whatsoever.

On a side note: Browsing through the Sky mag, looking at the cool shiny jet pictures of the mighty Delta fleet, it shows everything from the 747-400 down to the mighty SF340 as aircraft in the "Delta Fleet" No mention of any of the current connection carriers. For the customer, the boundry line between the connection carrier and Mother Del-dah is all but gone. I wonder what the mainline DAL folks think about that ... Looks like those are Delta aircraft, shouldn't they be flown by Delta pilots and cabin crew? Sadly, the venerable DC-9 was suspicously absent :( So the Saab, the EMB 170, and 145 make the list, but the -9 is out.

I think the DC9 is listed with the picture of the MD88/MD90

flynwmn 04-04-2010 03:57 PM

yep they show the md 90 and list the similar aircraft

SabreDriver 04-04-2010 05:43 PM

I stand corrected.... I guess the -9 folks are still in the family

How long until the "operated by xxxxx airlines" decals by the cabin door come off, I wonder?

I imagine it will keep getting smaller. The technology to print on a grain of rice exists today.

Just hope I don't have to start wearing the hat and a double-breasted jacket. At least the jacket is optional now, as opposed to May 1.

Doesn't have to get any smaller cause you can't see it unless your doing the walkaround thanks to the jet bridge

Well I guess if your boarding from the tarmac maybe.

Unless the FAA changes something, that will always be on the side of all aircraft that carry a different name than there own. If you noticed before the single ops cert. was approved all NWA aircraft that were painted Delta colors had "operated by northwest airlines" in small print back left of the fuse.

Actually, those names are here and at a certain size because of requirements in the DAL PWA. Unless we delete that section, they are going no where.

Also, this little PA game is a very sticky issue here. I would be willing to be that it will get reversed and rather quickly. If not there will be some action on it.
