Well if the NWA/DAL deal is any indication, the WO's will be gutted in favor of extremely expensive to break contracts with 3rd party contractors. But then again for Piedmont, both US and UA aren't the turboprop haters that DAL is.

DP says a few time a month that consolidation would be good for Airways even if Airways is not involved in it.. and with the snap back Airways pilots would get, I don't see it working out. It might just be a move to get COA to start talking..

I heard on the news today that AWAC was one of the carriers to come in near last for customer service in 2009. Comair as well. Probably old news, for some reason it was on the news today. Thought I would share.

Air Wisconsin wasn't included in the 2010 Airline Quality Report.

I think this is exactly what is happening. Airways/United was blocked once already due to east coast monopoly (right?) so why would they be allowed now. Continental and United has been setting up for a merger for a long time; common reservation systems, shared/close gate areas, alliance.

COA has been wary of merging and now United is setting up for a forced merger. Either CO and UA merge or conti is Left out in the cold on their own.

Don't worry about it. If anyone is merging with or buying United it will be Continental. The LCC-UAUA rumors were simply a ploy by United to grease the wheels of the Continental deal. The Airways deal would have never worked anyway.

Yeah, it must be a mistake...the news said Air Wisconsin but I think they meant American Eagle. Sorry to the Air Wisconsin guys...I was just quoting what I heard on the news. Here is an article I found on yahoo that said Comair and American Eagle. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-33699268

Since UAL would be the surviving airline the wholly owned regionals would be sold off so Nobody would ever have a claim to United seniority EXCEPT a United hired Pilot. Ask AWAC what they got from being bought and owned by UAL Inc. Other than being cut up and spread out to pasture..
UAL Inc. doesn't have a lot of patience with regionals I'm afraid. When all the other carriers formed their OWN or bought their own regionals United was Hiring and Firing like it was a new "Olympic Sport". UAL Made Skywest by firing Mesa and they'll help them even MORE when they fire Mesa AGAIN! United is NEVER going to turn mainline flying over to ANY regional.
(That they Don't OWN Outright!) Look what they did to Atlantic Coast and you'll see EXACTLY what they think of regionals. And another thing, No matter What ANYBODY Tells you, Neither USAir NOR Continental will EVER run United. Not in the Star Alliamce, and United is going Nowhere being a founding Member. The biggest chance at a takeover?? Lufthansa would be It if the opportunity were to come about. Since it Can't at present? There's no need to look for any other Scenario because it Ain't Gonna Happen!! And That's all the FAT Lady Sang. Were I Republic?? I'd be Concerned...

Well it's all speculation right now. There is no need to get anyone worried about what MIGHT happen. Everything is a possibility.
But what is a fact is that Doug P. Wanted to be CEO of the largest airline in the world from Day 1. Wether or not United is the brand name or US Airways, Doug P will be in charge and he doesn't care what the pilots/fa want. There are no rules when it comes to a merger.
