I hope you can see the differences between Indy Air and RAH. On a side note where are you finding your CASM numbers?
Yep, and some similarities as well. I got the casm numbers from the airline's individual websites. Their quarterly reports |

Of course there's a few similarities. You'll also find those with every mainline. A good website I've found for looking at transcripts is "Seeking Alpha". I looked at the UAUA one but didn't see any CASM numbers listed. There was a graph that showed UAUA at over 12 cents but I don't know if that includes reigonal feed or not. Generally the regionals run lower than .12.
(scroll to the bottom) Yes, the mainline casm was 12.01 mainline/ 12.69 consolidated (with regionals). The 8.50 I quoted was excluding fuel and special items. As were the other casm numbers I quoted. Incidentally, if you look, the "regional affiliates" casm was 16.92!! Not anywhere near 12 and in fact, that is why consolidated casm was HIGHER than mainline. It only makes sense that regionals have a higher casm because they have fewer seats to spread the costs over. (cost/seat miles). Fortunately, the regional's RASM was also high..17.50 last quarter, which covers the casm and then some. |
