This is my contention..... If ALPA saw it as inevitable, they should have done a better, more thorough job of explaining why, and cease with the polls if they don't intend to follow them......
They did explain it which is why I and several others on this forum understand what happened and why. As a safety rep, I wasn´t a direct part of the process, but I kept close contact with those that were and read all the information posted on the ALPA website.
As far as mitigation, our reps did the best they could. Those blaming ALPA for age 65 are like someone blaming the 183 Alamo defenders for losing against 4000 members of the Mexican Army. Our guys put up a good fight against the change, but when it came to the realization that it was inevitable, they had a choice: work within the process to mitigate as best they could or walk away, stand outside and throw rocks. I believe the Executive Council made the best decisions with what was available to them.

No, it has expired years ago. May 08 I believe, but we are still sorting out the BS of who will flow and when.
