That's correct, however the Mesaba people in your class will be at the top of the list according to their Mesaba seniority
I heard differant. Mesaba people have their seniority for pay purposes only. For scheduling and bidding they are treated like normal new hires. So age would be the only factor.

I would also venture a guess that not too many Mesaba guys came over as I *believe* the original stipulation was no outside hiring until all Mesaba guys were hired or turned it down.

That's exactly what I was told would happen during my interview back in July. I don't think too many Mesaba guys took the offer anyway.

That's not the way it went down in my (Aug) class that is just finishing, but who knows with all the negotiating still going on. In my class, the Mesaba people got to pick bases first, then it went by age. I'm sure there will be a few mesaba people in each class, at least there has been recently.

Safely budget for $0. Anything over that is gravy.

CDO's and Day Trips don't pay any per diem

CDOs (stand ups) do pay perdiem (figure 10-12 hours).

The rule is (as far as I can tell), if one's duty period crosses midnight, perdiem is paid.

Anyone have any idea why the October 5th class was postponed?

My best uninformed guess is that they are too clogged up on training right now. My friend just got the same call of postponing it indefinately.
