Hopefully if this happens the Mainline operators will regain the flying... :) wild thought eh?

I think we can all agree that would be the best thing for everyone. As much as I would love to see it, I doubt it will ever happen though unfortunately. I'm very interested to see how the scope situation shakes out with the CO/UA merger.

I don't know where the talk of stapling comes from when there is no talk of mergers, except by pilots with overactive imaginations.

It's all hypothetical.

Settle down.

Thank you!!!!!

Phuz, love that avatar. "****ter was full" lol. "honey, have you checked our ****ters lately?"

There's gotta be a play on words between that and this thread, but I just can't put together a good one.

I see a strong similarity in attitudes I suppose - being to lazy to actually do things the right way. The difference though IMO is that Eddie here was just dim and Kirby is like a 10 year old spoiled child that just couldn't be bothered to clean his room.

Ok not a dash but: "Oh, that uh, that there's an RJ. Yeah, yeah, I borrowed it off a buddy of mine. He took my house, I took the RJ. It's a good looking aeroplane, ain't it?"

So 2 million isn't worth the headache? As a furloughed 3rd lister, I think its worth the headache. By my calculation that 2 mil pays 55 first year FO salaries.

What does saving 2 million have to do with recalling pilots? By my calculation that 2 mil pays 250 GPUs. You don't pay for an item that isn't needed just because you found some cash laying around.

Thats true, and I agree you don't recall 55 furloughs just because you saved $2M. BUT, it serves as an example of how the senior management at Airways is incapable of running a profitable airline. They aren't willing to go through the 'stress' of running an efficient company and because of that the hardworking folk who have been furloughed stand that much less of a chance of returning to work here any time soon.

I guarantee there are dozens of examples we can find where senior managers at Airways could save the company money - but instead opt to 'take it easy' because they feel secure enough in their jobs. Why focus on the expenses when you KNOW that your revenue will return this year?

I know 250 would be a pretty good volume, but what kind of power carts would $8k/apiece buy?

How many air conditioning carts would that $2M buy? :D

I fly the airplanes, and let them mange the airline. The people running Airways are a lot smarter than I and are under lots more pressure.

How much money would be saved if pilots shut down their APUs, when properly equipped with air and power? Over one year, a lot more than 2 million I bet.

It would by 200 air conditioning cart, but you'd need to hire some rampers to hook them up with at least 5 kinks in the hose.
