Just thought I would throw this in but once you are in training and your equipment is the turboprop then you are equipment locked for a year. Therefore, those guys in training right now that are ATR won't be able to bid for any jet vacancies.

That's not exactly accurate. If, say, 6 months from now they find out that San Juan FO ATR is overstaffed, then a pilot who is "seat locked" can proffer to displace out of that status. That's how I got to the ATR and back to the Jet 7 months later. Both proffers to displace.
