question about the AE sim check
Can anyone who recently interviewed at American Eagle, (or any one who has direct knowledge of this), tell me about the simulator they have you fly as part of the sim check at this interview. I understand it's not full motion and that it simulates the Beech Baron aircraft. Specifically, can anyone tell me if it has an HSI, RMI, both neither??? If it does not have these what does it have??
If this question has been asked before I apologize. Thanks in advance. |
I was told it's a wrap around Frasca with a G1000.

Actually I just need to know if it has an HSI, RMI, or both... Or does it have just a simple compass card (directional gyro) with a separate simple VOR indicator (with the pivoting needle at the top of the indicator) for navigation? In other words are you doing holds and ILS's with an HSI or are you doing these with instruments like the ones in an old Cessna 152???
Again thanks in advance for any info |

Again thanks in advance for any info She said G1000. In other words...."glass". It shouldn't matter anyway, all basic NAV info is the same. |

^^^^^^^ now this is useful info I could use and answers my original question more directly, but really do apreciate eveyones help. Thanks again to everyone !!! |
Real basic, no big deal. It's LAX or FWA. Takeoff, climb to 3,000, enter a hold, one turn (maybe not even, if you look like you know what you're doing). Descend, ILS with the flight director, ILS without the flight director. Done. It's all glass. Not a thing complicated about it. The instructor will do most of the control manipulation anyway. If you can hold an airplane upright, shoot an ILS on glass, and follow a FD, you're golden.

There is FWA, LAX, MEM, and DFW.

I think the best advise given in the interview was 'for every phase of flight, there is an associated checklist'. So remember to call for them.
