Skywest Proposed Payrates Better than ASA

This is what was given to the skywest pilot or will be given to
As you can see, 700 rates have been made equal to ASAs I don't know if this is due to the fact that ASA has pretty much held firm on the "NO Paycut" speech that has been given or what. Either way Managment is willing to give Skywest pilots more than ASA pilots.

Fellow pilots,

This document’s purpose is to familiarize SkyWest Pilots with the quality of life work-rule improvements proposal nicknamed Zoltar and to also update pay negotiations.

Zoltar

• 2 hour Short-Call for all domiciles for reserve pilots
• Establish a 12 hour Long-Call for reserve pilots
• Max 18 duty days per bid period, i.e. 12-13 days off for all pilots
• 4:10 Minimum Daily Guarantee for all pilots
• Establish a Minimum Staffing Level Requirement formula coupled with monetary incentives, i.e. 150% pay above 87 hrs, if the average credit per domicile with PBS is above 90 hours at the beginning of the bidding process.
• Establish a reserve list transparency able to be seen by all pilots, i.e. any pilot will be able to see the current reserve staffing levels system wide and at each domicile.

The Scheduling Committee is currently trying to find a common date to meet with Anita Spencer, Director of Crew Support, to finalize this proposal.

Pay Negotiations Update

The Executive Board had met in a recent Flight Ops meeting with Captain Brad Holt (VP of Flight Ops), who has now re-opened up pay negotiations and has expressed a positive outlook toward a revised pay TA (Tentative Agreement) with the pilot group. The EB came back to the representatives in the Denver SAPA meeting and SAPA has swiftly established a TA to be proposed to Brad next week.

Pay Proposal TA:

• 2% immediate raise across the board
• Split rates between CRJ 200 & the CRJ 700/900 Captain & FO rates
• CRJ 700/900 rate equal to ASA’s CRJ700 rate
• EMB 120 rate instead of Turbo Prop rate
• COLA (Cost Of Living Adjustments) of 2%/ yr starting 1/08 thru 1/09
• First Year FO rate all aircraft of $23

We will update the results further after the EB meets with Captain Holt. Thank you for taking the time to read this update.

Fly safe,
Captain Rich Hayes, Communications Committee Chair

True. . .

I don't like how they are going to set 700 and 900 pay the same, or atleast that's what it looks like they are setting up.

If you knew anything about SW you would know those yahoos! who manage our pay "negotiations" dangle crap like this in front of newbies just before a union vote. Although there is no vote in the immediate future, ALPA is breathing down our necks and magmt/SAPA knows it.

I bet we get less than 1/2 of those proposals, and magmnt has said "HELL NO" to splitting the pay scales..so maybe that is off the table.

Im not holding my breath. Our negotiating team has no stick and therefor takes what they are given and says "thank you ...may I have another!?"

From what I heard ASA and Skywest Managment have told websites to take down what I posted but its too late. Alpa got a hold of it and are throwing it back in ASA managments face. Looks like the pilots have won this round. I don't see how ASA managment could propose anything less now.

Slaphappy...
what you posted was what the SKYWEST PILOTS are asking for....not what SW magmnt is offering..BIG difference. We can ask for the moon, but in the end will we get it?

ASA pilots are not anybetter off because we asked for a raise. Im keeping my fingers crossed, but this is about round 5 or 6 for our "negotiatrs" trying to get a raise and SW mgmt just says "no...try again later" and that's the end of it.

There is no reason SkyWest ALPA committee would be happy about this. If the pilots do get some of this..newbies would be less likely to vote for ALPA because they got a raise without voting in a union.

Same tactics as always..effective as always.

Their 900s (705s actually) have fewer seats than the stock 900, so they are more like the 700 in that regard. But those fewer seats are premium, so there is more revenue potential in the 900.

Can anyone clarify...was that proposal a pilot proposal or a company proposal?

It looked like a pilot proposal/request to me....

Utah 08-02-2006 11:32 AM

Stictly a pilot proposal. Management, after not wanting to talk about pay since we voted down the last proposal now does. Timed real nicely with the union drive that is picking up. When the cards go out management will blame the OC that pay raises are no longer available because of their actions. Again right out of managements playbook on how to avoid a union. They've spent millions in legal fees to be coached on how to avoid unions.

Utah..

your so right...it is a shame the company can compare our QOL..with the other regionals and still look good. That's just how bad so many are. But that doesn't address the fundemenatl concerns, how can a company that is making millions deny their employees a wage increase?

They will..I know, so before we jump on that band wagon, the question is ...knowing their tactics, how do we respond so we can secure a future for the company (ie competeitive wages) and make a living too (ie wage increase)?

Lets not let them get away with it again, and again, and again...
