Is the 135 flying as part of a crew, or single pilot?

Figure out what you want to do. Flying biz jets? Then do what is closest to it. In your case, that looks to be the 121 jet FO job.

Multi-engine, crew, jet, PIC - those 4 categories are the key to Biz Jets. The more experience you have in each of those categories, the better.

The best experience? Internal recommendations. If flying a Cub gets you face time with the right people, your resume will be at the top of the stack, ahead of my 1000's of hours of jet PIC, heavy, crew, international experience, etc.

It's all about who you know, not what you know.

You should consider posting in the non-121 forums if that's where you want to end up, not the regional forum.

Both would be great. During my XJT furlough, I've been building a ton of multi-piston PIC under Part 135. It's great experience to have under your belt, and it checks a few boxes. That said, I will be taking recall if offered, simply because nobody goes from a [piston] Twin Cessna to Delta.

Yes, I'll be then building a million hours of turbine SIC, but I already have 2000 PIC in my logbook. Many regional FOs don't have that.

Thanks for all the info and opinions. To answer some of the questions that have been posed, see below:

-I have over 1000 PIC
-I have ATP mins, but no ATP (yet!) written is done
-Currently have about 200 hrs turbine time, all SIC, and 0 PIC multi (except 1 hr from MEL checkride :))
-I do not care to fly for the majors or FedEx or UPS. I would much prefer to fly a King Air or corporate operator forever.

The way I see it, turbine time is great and all, as is glass experience, and I do have some of both. Maybe not a magic number, but it's there. I would say with that on my resume, a bunch of PIC time in a relatively high performance and complex aircraft would look better than sitting right seat for 5 years.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I would think that if I was an employer, I'd want the guy who had been making decisions flying 135 PIC over the guy with equal jet time in the right seat.

Just thinking out loud...

That being the case, I would go with the 135/91 job that gets you ME PIC. If you're in the 121 world, you are on the other side of things which makes it that much harder to make contacts in the GA world. With a 121 background, you *may* also have to deal with the "airline stink" that plagues some folks trying to break into charter and corporate.

If you're working in GA, then you will be familiar with doing everything yourself (flight plans, dealing with pax, logistics, etc.). This will give you a leg up on regional guys that haven't dealt with this stuff before.

While that's a good and valid thought, it would be somewhat difficult for you to be insurable as PIC of a corporate/charter jet or "large" (ie bigger than KA90) turboprop if the biggest thing you've been flying to that point is a piston twin.

Not impossible, mind you...but more difficult than somebody who has been flying (for example) a Dash or CRJ for a couple thousand hours.

You won't know if you made the "right" decision until long after you've acted...good luck!
