if you have a choice go Pinnacle, the pay scale there is so much better.

IAD (SF340) or EWR (Q400) is where all newhires are most likely to be placed.

What are the junior bases for Colgan? If I agree to come on board to Colgan where whould I get based? It looks like IAH would be the best for commuting to me, but I don't know my chances at getting based there. It's a big part of the decision as to whether I come to Colgan or choose Pinnacle....or decline all together.

Any info would be great. Thanks.

FlyingGorilla,

Right now each of our Saaab bases seems to be slowly filling up with new faces each month. So, it's hard to deem any one of our Saab bases as the most junior right now. At some point in your ground school Crew Resources will come in and tell everyone what the current list of available bases are and you will all bid for and be awarded out of seniority order. Sometime in training or sortly thereafter you'll be able to access our Pilot Standing Preferential Bid List. You can keep your list up to date and anytime we have a Vacancy Bid open up just keep your fingers crossed you get your first pick. If you decide to take a Q400 class you'll obviously be heading to EWR. Next month the first of our new Q's will start being delivered with the first six slated to go to EWR. We still haven't received any word from Continental/United as to where the followning nine will go. Management hopes to have this information by the first part of August so they can begin formulating the projections for our next Vacancy Bid. I hope this information helps out. Good luck with your decsion!

If only life decisions are as simple as a pay scale. There are many factors involved in making a decision like this, pay scale is just one factor.

No more than two failed checks ...license is optional!!

This is like saying, if you have a choice between picking two steaming piles of crap, pick the less horrible smelling one.....either way your left with a pile of dung.
