That is true. They were not required to do it. I agree it would have been a courtesy to the tower controlled and another airline crew.

So does that mean the next time they ask a tower for a favor, they shouldn't expect it?

Just like most of the time when I ask for another runway if available and they reply "on request"...makes me wonder how many times it is truly on request or just a standard reply.

Again, I understand what you are saying but pilots can not operate on what is "best" for controllers or anyone else not on that plane. They made a decision and it seems to be the right decision as they were concerned.

Case closed.

What airport/runways are in reference here. That could solve this problem quickly.......On behalf of my coworkers I apologize you got to your destination 3 minutes later than you could have. It must have been a horrible experience for you.

Since I didn't name a specific airport or flight number, I wasn't knocking the crew. If you read my original post, I was asking if it was a company procedure or FMS issue.

I did not say I was inconvenienced. Everyone is jumping on the 3 minute bandwagon. I was just asking if there was a FOM or A/C issue that prevented it.

If you like, I will say the crew can't fly their way out of a paper bag then you can get ****y.

Not all of us are paid by rig, even at your benevolent employer.

We need ALL the block hours we can get. No need to rush a departure anymore.
