Well, at least it is an exciting time to be part of the "family". Kinda like being on a Tilt-a-Whirl after eating six chilly cheese dogs.

I agree I think the PCL pilots have seen most of the games we have seen. PCL is a pretty strong pilot group I have tons of respect for a group that votes down a TA, so I don't under estimate you guys. I just hope we can get this all worked out and not Pi$$ to many pilots off. I for one will not come with an attitude, I just want to go to work and forget about the place.

From Our website the big wigs put out a letter and they are now classifying the jets as an "asset transfer to pinnacle" and the mesaba colgan combination as a merger. This is why we need one seniority list for the whole company.

Question:

Is it possible to have 1 contract for 3 seperate pilot groups from 3 separate airlines?...I know that they all fall under the "corp", but they are still separate airlines. Now granted, Colgan and Mesaba will become 1, but pinnacle is its own entity...

Just Curious

The ultimate double whammy.

Man, who the hell cares about post count?

Any word on the recalling of mesaba pilots? I heard a rumor that they might be recall letter going out by the end of the month... can anyone chime in?

If by recall you mean make them new hires at pinnacle then yes that is what I have heard unfortunately.

As per a company memo, Mesaba furloughs will be offered preferential hiring to Pinnacle and Colgan. Pinnacle plans to hire 60 pilots starting late July or August and continue hiring the rest of the year. Colgan plans to hire around 100 pilots this year. Mesaba furloughs will not have to interview and will retain Mesaba seniority numbers and longevity but will be treated as a new hire for bidding. If I missed anything please add.......

July 13, 2010

A Message From Bob Muhs
Senior Vice President of Operations

When the Mesaba acquisition was announced, we communicated our intent to
work with our Pilots’ union to find opportunities for furloughed Mesaba
Pilots to move into available positions at Pinnacle.

Today, we’re happy to let you know that we are going to begin preferential
hiring of furloughed Mesaba Pilots into Pinnacle Airlines, with classes
beginning no later than July 26, 2010.

We plan to initially bring back approximately 60 Pilots for the month of
August and continue preferential hiring of Mesaba Pilots through the end
of the year. We also are pleased to let you know that ALPA has agreed on
an MOU that allows those Mesaba Pilots to have their time at Mesaba
applied for the purposes of pay and benefits at Pinnacle. For schedule
bidding purposes, seniority will be based on their start date at Pinnacle,
but Mesaba Pilots will not be required to give up their seniority number
(in order to ensure no seniority integration risks).

Mesaba pilots will receive direct, personal communications soon from John
Spanjers and Joe Restifo.

As we stated during the acquisition and again in the follow-up employee
site visits, we believe this new partnership will create more near-term
and long-term opportunities for our People. Today’s news is just one
example.

Sincerely,

Bob

Come down off your high horse chief--you're going to have to now that you're flying for what many of your ground ops folks (and pilots) have referred to as "the red-headed stepchild")....

Plenty of folks at 9E have also "been through the merrygo round"--if you bring your wholly-owned superiority complex here, you'll soon realize we have just as many folks who have "been through the merrygo round."

Slow your roll nic. There's about 70 people on your list that were here in 97. Might want to talk to them about that LOA, how it came about, and if it was a good deal for those guys. I'll put you in touch with at least 10 that are still on the XJ payroll, who would say it was a great deal, and they were glad to have the opportunity. Mainly because they would have been furloughed from Express regardless and only offered only preferiential hiring (interviews no seniority) at other ALPA carriers. Might help if you get the terms of the LOA correct too, it's in your contract under LOA 21.

Lastly, the only airline I've heard called the "red headed stepchild" is us. I've only heard 9E called the "golden child". Sorry for your 5 year negotiations, ours was 4. I (along with many other XJ guys) have picketed with you around your system (I saw the rat firsthand), and I was proud to be a part. But one might argue that XJ has had a rougher go of it over the last 8 years, and came out of it pretty well suprisingly. Most around here have been beat of their "high horse" many years ago, seems you're still riding tall in your saddle.

I talked to about 4 of those guys yesterday that were here, and all they could say is how they thought it was a crappy deal which was why they didn't take it. Opinions and all that.
