Only 30 upgrades? I think we have about half that many guys in stage II of the jetBlue interview process.....

Just read the letter from ALPA. The LOA does NOT APPLY! Glad to see the union folks are prevailing with a logical response.

Yeah but how is xj going to decide who comes over with the planes to 9e and who goes to 9l. Its going to be very tricky.

It doesn't matter. If you read the XJ contract, section 1 clearly states how the company must deal with the situation. The planes cannot move to the 9E certificate until the seniority lists and JCBA has been dealt with. With one seniority list, you move where your seniority can hold.

Funny thing is, they just moved a 9E CRJ to the XJ certificate. They say it is temporary though. And if you want a source, it was in the XJ presidents weekly newsletter.

Hell, I'll do ya one better. I was the one that flew it in and handed over to MX. Another reserve guy that I know was the one that handed it over to the XJ crew.

What else came out other than the LOA doesn't apply. We haven't even gotten that much on our side, yet.....

N825AY was removed from our fleet on/around the 27th and will fly under XJ until sometime in mid September. The reason that I was given is we cannot cover the additional flying even at 200%. It's a temporary thing- in time all the jets will be on one side, props on another. This fact is well known and a collective effort from all 3 MEC's and the company.

they did say they are meeting again with DALPA about our flow through. Nothing has been decided on that front

I forgot to mention they said it does not matter that management is calling this an asset transfer, in the eyes of ALPA it is a merger.

Not trying to flame...but...I see no reference to this comment on any email on relation to how ALPA is viewing this transaction...in my opinion this is pure speculation. Until something is finalized anything is possible...just remember that. This is the airline industry.

Here's the union statement.

ALPA agrees that a process will have to be negotiated to accommodate the provisions of our scope language, as well as to abide by ALPA Merger Policy. As stated above, ALPA Merger policy will apply because management has announced the combination of ALPA represented pilot groups. The fact that management labeled the part of the transaction as an “asset transfer” does not mean that Merger Policy will not apply, nor does it mean that that the Mesaba pilots have fewer rights than we otherwise might have. Significantly, even management has recognized that ALPA Merger Policy applies.
