For as much crap as the (b-list) Freedom guys took, they were one of the best pilot groups out there! Sad that it came down to this... (while the a-effers are still around at Mesa).

Godspeed to all Freedom guys now either being furloughed or forced elsewhere!

How many pilots will Mesa have when all is said and done???

My six years at Freedom were...well...real. CLT, MCO, ATL, IAD, JFK, CVG. Six years, six domiciles, pure MESA. I bet I never fly with another bunch of guys like Freedom's pilots.

800 was the advertised number after the F8 hammer came down, but it appears as though they'll need to furlough less than planned, otherwise they'll surely be about 40-50 or more short of the that number when the dust settles. The current attrition rate is just a trickle right now compared to past attrition rates (2006-2007). History repeats itself...

Yeah it is sad. I miss Mesa. I was always on the United side on the CRJ, so I never interacted with the Freedom guys, but I knew a bunch. Wonderful people who put up with too much crap. When people ask me what Mesa was like, I always tell them almost verbatim "The company was crap, but the people I flew with made it amazing."
