Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba TA Countdown

November 15th is the deadline for a combined contract! Let's see if PNCL Corp is serious about this!

Heard all 3 MECs are working hard to get this done. Keep up the good work.. you all deserve it.

If they want it that quick there had better be some good gains without any takeaways for ALL 3 pilot groups involved.

As a XJ pilot, a small pay raise would be a big pay raise for everyone else. It will be very hard to convince the XJ pilots to take a small raise on a concessionary contract. I think the best thing would be a small raise for a 1 or 2 year deal with 2.5% kickers for every year after the contract expires that we do not have a new contract.

Let Pinnacle merge the airlines and we get some good contractual gains. Then when things settle down, go right back into negotiations with guaranteed raises every year there after.

Just think if 9E had the kickers that are in the XJ contract.....you all would be making 10% more than you are now and you still would be negotiating an even better deal.

Cautiously Optimistic

Do Mesaba's operational costs have a direct bearing on their furloughs? And if so...will that affect management's decision on pay raises?

Valid points. I know the goal is "Mesaba plus" when negotiating but how much "plus" is the question when you take into account that the other 2 groups are below current concessionry Mesaba.

Where is this deadline coming from? That is more than 45 days away that we keep hearing about. Is that the day it has to be ratified by? Is that a delta deadline?

The "deadline" is not really a deadline, its more of a goal...

And yes the 3 MECS are working hard and I have faith they will work as hard as possible to meet the goal.

Excerpt from an email from all 3 MEC's:

"As you know, we are working on an expedited timeframe which commenced this week in our first meeting with management in Atlanta , GA. This expedited timeframe, as currently outlined, calls for negotiations to be completed by November 15, 2010......With respect to the JCBA, if we reach a TA with management, pending approval from all three MECs, it will be sent to the pilot groups for ratification. Should the JCBA negotiations not prove fruitful, the PCL and CJC pilots will return to their Section 6 and Section 2 status respectively, and the MSA agreement will continue in its current form."

This sounds like it's not necessarily a set-in-stone date on Nov. 15th.
