Correct, but not for your airplane, but for the one behind you. Wake turbulence. :D

The politically correct name is "Flight Attendant". Use stewardess and you can get an earful!

I heard a story how the name was changed to Flight Attendant at the time that there became more and more male stewardesses and they did not want to be on par with a Steward on a ship.

Don't know if its true, but I think I'd rather be a Ship Steward than a flight attendant. I mean, Gopher seemed to enjoy his job on the Pacific Princess:D

Weren't they called "Air Hostesses" once upon a time?......like back in the 70s or 80s? Followed by "stewardesses" and then "FAs"?
