I'd be more willing to bet "flightsimmer" before going with the whole "suspicious" thing. ;) |

The Saab, like many other aircraft, DOES have an autopilot test. It is quite simple. When the FO is on a 3 mile final, hold a very full cup of boiling hot coffee over his lap. If during the landing an ear splitting scream is heard, the autopilot needs work. No scream, Ops Check Good.

Since this is the most suspicious thread of 2010...I'll post a picture of the chicken I grilled the other night.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do the autopilot test on the Saab 340B? I'm new to the airplane and when I went to test it, it would automatically disconnect. I engaged the autopilot, pressed both trim buttons on the yoke up and it would disconnect.
If I just engage it and not doing anything, it looks like it goes through a self test. Is this correct? Thanks for your help! Are you testing the trim override function built into the captains switch? One up, the other down? Seriously, who flies Saabs? Can I get a job? :) |

I think there's a patch you can download to fix that issue.

All that time spent in ground school, ORAL, SIM, Checkride, OE..and you have to come to a public forum and ask a question like this?
OH Yeah...you are ready to upgrade! |
