I interviewed in the afternoon session..all three of us that interviewed then were given the offer. Have you heard anything from your background check/pee test yet?

You probably wont.

After about 2-3 weeks, if everything is okay, they'll call you if they have an available class date. If they don't, they'll call you when they do have an available class date scheduled.

If everything's not okay, you'll probably get a phone call shortly there after giving you the "great" news that you've ****ed (literally) your life away.

I was in the morning session and given the offer. Haven't really heard anything yet, just hoping to get a class date soon. I interviewed with 2 others but not sure if they got offers or not.

ISU1150 02-05-2011 11:30 AM

Any idea when the next round of interviews will be, application has been in just over 2 weeks and the waiting is killing me! I really hope to interview and at the least get a call!

I know that the background checkers called my current employer the other day..so I guess the ball is rolling on that at least

They are regularly holding interviews. Don't expect any kind of phone call or anything in less than a month, even with internal recommendations. They really are moving as fast as they can, but you have to realize that they get hundreds of applications. Some people get a call in a month, others have been waiting for 4 months now. Not to make it a bummer feeling, just that you can't compare any two people, everyone is different.

I got my background checks started the very next day. They are super fast and efficient. They want you on property as soon as possible and if anything comes up, they want to have plenty of time to review and figure out anything.

Cessnan1315efw 02-07-2011 04:51 AM

What to bring?

Question for you guys that interviewed. Want to be prepared with everything in case I get the call with short turnaround time. What items did they ask you to bring to the interview?

They send you an email with a bunch of papers to fill out (mostly release forms for your FAA records, driving records, etc) Other than that you just take two copies of your resume, your logbooks, and any rec. letters you might have. Oh, also copies of your licenses, medical, passport...stuff flike that

Unlike Eagle, they get the driving records..you don't have to take them..same with school transcripts

Wingtips 02-07-2011 05:35 PM

Any chance of a new hire getting RDU?

They said they're planning on about 16/month through July, but they could take more if Cactus keeps giving them more hours.

From what I've heard from people already flying for them, RDU is pretty senior..most likely new hires will go to DCA or PHL..do know someone that go into ORF back in July/August and is already holding a line though.

I graduated college last May of 2010, and over the last few summers while in College got my licenses from a part 61 guy at my local airport. Cost me about 42k from start to finish, which I got from my Grandpas trust fund. I got a few flying gigs from people my instructor knew starting mid May of this year, I had about 300 hours, I now have 910 TTL, and about 130 ME. I have interviews coming up with AWAC, Eagle, ASA, Commutair, and Great Lakes. I am 22, any advice?

What do you think is the right place for you? Obviously there are a lot of factors that play into the decision....looks like there is a ton of info (on APC) about every regional hiring right now...good luck!

Be yourself, know basic IFR and a bit of Jepp charts can help, find the airline that has a good history and what works for you. If you can avoid commuting, that helps too.

Has anyone else heard any word on them doing the sim training for new hires in Phoenix?

Recent class of 16 got spread all around- guys got every base (Even LGA). Class after that all got ORF.

Machne722 02-09-2011 12:00 PM

hey wingtips how did u get one with ASA arent they 1500tt?

Moonwolf 02-09-2011 12:34 PM

anybody know what the schedule is like for each base?

I heard from a friend that LGA you end up being on rsv for a long time, but at somewhere like PHL or ORF you can hold a line much faster.

flysooner9 02-09-2011 02:49 PM

got the call for an interview today. Im going in on the 18th. This will be my first 121 interview. Really like the sounds of the company. Just concerned about the commute from the central US.

Moonwolf 02-09-2011 03:02 PM

From what people tell me, it sucks. But good luck in the interview, do you have a gouge? PM me if you want one. Or you could probably find one on APC

Nice, how long has your stuff been in with them? I'm waiting on a call myself.

Drums4life 02-09-2011 11:15 PM

CommutAir or Lakes

flysooner9 02-10-2011 10:42 AM

I've had my stuff in for a while but just recently got the 100ME. Also have an internal rec from an FO there.

Yes, it's a TSA requirement for you to be issued your crew badge I believe. AWAC also does their own backround investigation as well.

Just had ground school this month. The best interview advice right now is to know systems, specifically the fuel system. One big question they are asking is dealing with ejector pumps, scavenge pumps, etc.
