definitely a funny video and all stubbornness not see all the good parts of the contract is equally humorous....but with gas again on the rise and the "future" of pncl being in 2 airplanes with close to equal numbers of seats (Q/900), yet such a big gap in pay, with no less responsibility - should be taken into mind.

If gas becomes too much and the 50 seats get reeled back, alot of jet drivers might find yourself taking a sizable paycut to fly more pax in a prop.

Actually you should take in mind that Delta pays the crew of an A319/320 more than MD88/90 even though they carry more passengers. The A319/320 has a high gross take off weight and range and that is what factors in the pay scale. A Q400 is closer in weight to a CRJ200 and goes slower and has less range. Sorry to rain on the Colgan pipe dream, but there is more that goes into a payscale than bodies in the hull.

The fact that the payscale is being stepped up to the fifty seat payscale over a period of 3 years is huge win. Mesaba's current 50 seat CA payscales are more than most regionals(ASA/SkyWest/Republic) 70 seat CA scales and the new contract is a raise over that.

Your post further validates the video.

If that's the case, Delta's gonna have to re-negotiate the services agreement since we're already at our contractual minimum number of -200s. Not saying they WON'T do that, but it may just be easier to reduce -200s in other areas rather than go through a negotiation process.

I don't disagree that it could happen but in the purchase Delta and 9E signed an agreement for both the 900's and 200's that go another 10+ years. I would be the last person to argue that Delta won't change their minds but with the SAAB's leaving (maybe) that lift will have to come form someplace.

I think the 144 200's are safe for the time being.
