Well when you calculate out that plus or minus a few dollars over 1000 hours a year it makes a bit of a difference. Figure you will probably fly an average of 85-95 hours (once you are a line holder) and multiply the pay rate times that. Figure about another 300-400 hours of per diem and you should have a pretty good idea. But when you are figuring out income, you really shouldn't count per diem.

When you are on reserve, that is up to scheduling. When you hold a line, you can really fly as much or as little as you want. I know some guys who drop their line down to 30-40 hours so they have more time to do things on the side (like real estate) and there are other guys who are getting paid 100-120 hours a month because of deadheads and because they pick up a lot of flying. Its really up to you. Bear in mind, I do not work for PSA, this is just from my own experience in the industry.

Why is it still called PSA if it's based out of CLT? Naming rights stuff?

Actually, The company is based in DAY but the largest Pilot Base is CLT...Used PSA name back in 1996 to keep the name after USAirways purchased original PSA back in 88/89...JIA (jetstream Int'l) which we were, already had it's own operating certificate. We are still under our JIA three letter identifier with ATC, which is why we think we are called Jetlink all the time (but I have no idea what there 3 letter identifier is)

Good Luck...

Just found out we needed 2 more for class next Monday and the 8 already in there drained the pool so 2 someone's may be in class on Monday after interviews on Thursday! Remember, seniority is everything!!!
