Rep/Shuttle/CHQ crew bases.
What are the new crews getting,I understand NO Republic hiring for the future and most are going to Shuttle and CHQ, if this is true, what are the easisest bases to get and commute from, is the CLE and GRR bases still open and are they junior.
|
CHQ - probably hired into MKE and GRR. Although, we had a vacancy for CHQ CA and the back filling may be needed company wide.
S5 - LGA will probably be the base that new hires go to. |
MKE is mostly likely on CHQ. Maybe a small few to GRR and ORD. CLE is going to shrink this year.

Don't come work here. What was once a great company with happy pilots has turned into a turd. I feel like I'm back at Mesa when I go to work. Management is screwing us, people hate their jobs, the company's ability to remain in business for long is seriously in doubt. People are leaving in droves... That should tell you all you need to know.

No matter how many times this call and response plays its self out, it makes me chuckle (with a pained look on my face). "this company sucks, bites, underpays, ect." "then quit so I can take that job and complain about it a years time" Does anybody else think that some "pilots" on this forum are actually management plants who are spying, and spinning information? Seattle pilot, please excuse those who want a little more than to get paid in sunsets, and shiny jets. We all worked extremely hard to become professionals. Your attitude and remarks are an attempt to marginalize a legitimate concern for our industry. Are you a pilot? Do you have family obligations? |
You guys will live longer if you think about things not related to work.
Seriously, when I see bitter pilots walking around with a scowl I can't help but shake my head. Think about the over night, think about the hot F/A in the back who has a crush on you, think about what you're going to do when you get back home, think about the new iPad coming out on the 11th, think about the Chicago Bears first season opener, think about drinking an ice cold PBR, think about how much Tool and Tool fans suck, think about things other than work and you'll feel so much better. Seriously people... Also, work on your damn uniform and body image. [/rant] |

Until i find a better gig, i will try to show up on time, be safe as i can and collect my paycheck... The attitude is everything in this life.. have a positive one. |
While I agree that a positive attitude goes a long way, I have a friend currently seeking employment and I had to have a long talk with him about whether I'd come here to work or not.
-Current business plan was based on $80/bbl oil and president stated he didn't know what we'd do if oil topped $100. Now its forecast to exceed that for the rest of the year! -Our interest to income ratio is 1.0, meaning 100% of our past year's income is required to just make the interest payments on our current loans! And, we're looking to finance more 190's. Can anyone say "overleveraged?!" -Management continues to try to manage our pilots and employees by poking them with sticks, all while preaching that we've got to treat our employees like guests. -Morale amongst pilots is at an all time low. -$36.62/hr indefinitely with health insurance going up every year = smaller paycheck every January. Basically, I have REAL doubts that RAH will survive without a bankruptcy in its future. So I'd think long and hard about applying here and being on the bottom of a list that has a very good chance of furloughing in the future. There, anyone considering this place can't say you haven't been warned. On the positive side, the people you work with are great. If you come on here and things turn for the positive, you'll be working for the only regional where you can eventually upgrade to a "major," might take your whole career, but the opportunity might be there, if they survive. And the jets are nice and shiney! ;) |

I would not read too much into the financial numbers of RAH. They are currently in negotiations with it's pilot group.
|
and the jets are not shiny, just dirty and peeling...
|
Also, you have to wonder why F/O's are leaving in large numbers, I know of one that left here after 3-4 years to go to Eagle. Granted he did so he wouldn't have to commute but still, to throw away 3-4 years is quite a thing to do. Good luck to anyone out there looking for work.
