Can someone post the out of pocket amount for Medical, Dental and Vision plans for family coverage (including spouse and 2 kids) as well as for Employee and kids (not including spouse)?
Thanks!

What does "OAP" stand for? What is the difference between the two dental plans?

Thanks again for the info.

With Children, you wouldnt even want to consider the HRA. Its essentially a plan for single pilots with no family, and who never really get sick, so they have a cheaper plan. The better dental covers orthodontics. I seem to remember something from the road show about needing to have at least a year with the company before being eligible to apply new braces and such. If your child already has them, you can have them covered under plan two right away to have check ups on the braces or anything else that falls into that area.

I wouldn't necessarily say the quote above is accurate.

Semi-Monthly Contribution Cost (per paycheck, we will go to twice monthly paydays)

Thats true. Im single, no family, and rarely visit the doctor but am still going with the OAP. 20% of a simple office visit can be REAL expensive.

True, there's not a big difference between the two plans for the single employee. However, if you look at the employee and family, you can save over $1100 in premium costs for the plan year. If your family doesn't visit the doctor often and exhaust the $1000 the company initially puts toward the deductible, you can realize some savings. Plus, however much of the company supplied $1000 you do not use toward deductible costs rolls over to the next plan year provided you stay with the HRA plan for a maximum of $2000 (if you do not use any of the $1000). So your next year's entire $2000 deductible could be completely supplied by the company (if you do not use any of the $1000 company contribution the previous year).

You may not go to the doc, but if you look at the diff in price at $80/month for an employee and family (or like 26 for just yourself), at $960/year difference ( or close to 150 single), you are still paying WAY less than the deductible of 2000 family, or 1000 single with the HRA. It looks to me like the HRA is crap. EVERYTHING is 80% covered but ONLY after meeting your yearly deductible. Just fork up the money... The last thing anyone needs is ridiculous medical bills in a "what if" situation. Its bad enough that lots of pilots have large school loans. You dont need to add to it.

Isn't that what max out of pocket limit is for? In the end it wouldn't be all that different would it?
