Can anyone tell me what kinda lifestyle you live with Colgan on reserve? I know that its not the funniest thing but I'm just looking forward to having a job flying something other than a piston. I live near CLT and if I get the job looking to commute to work. I know it has its ups and downs but can anyone let me know what its like thats on reserve right now? And also with all of this hiring going on how long are you looking at staying on reserve for?
Thanks
Thanks

Easy commute from CLT. New hire FO's are getting like a month on reserve. With the new contract they can't really abuse you as much. It's a pretty good deal except for being on the bottom end of a 3,000 pilot seniority list.

Typically sit on reserve until the next bid period comes out after you finish ioe, and you get a line. Like said before, probably less than a month reserve. This is on the Q out of EWR, I'm not sure about Saabs.

I finished OE in September, had a build up line in October, then spent 4 months on reserve. I got line this month though. CRW TDY.
I have not had any serious issues, in fact my only issue is not getting called on reserve haha. I literally flew like 30 total hours in my 4 months on reserve. But then again IAD seems to be overstaffed right now on the FO side.
There is a whole lot of changing going on with the new contract and now almost all of our outstations are closing in the north east and a new BOS base opening. Then there is SLI...
Some real good rumors are starting about 15 Q400 to DEN for Uninental, and 30 Q400 to MSP for Delta.

That's good to hear. A month of reserve is a looooot less than I was expecting.
I heard the pay increases to get inline with Mesaba are going to take like 5 years? With Mesaba already handling Colgan hiring, any idea on how much longer the name will be in use?
