Who do i pick?

I live in the Oklahoma City area, living in base is not an option due to fiance. Im 21 so i figure if i went Eagle im assured the ATR.
Pinnacle class date of March 28th.
Eagle i will probably be looking at mid April.

I know ultimately i have to do what makes me the happiest but at this point i dont really know which one will.

if all things are equal get in class sooner. 6 weeks is the difference between furlough, upgrade and getting stuck.

Also if Eagle ever gets sold it could be bad times. (but that's unlikely)

So if both are lousy commutes you've gotta ask yourself what's more important. You'll probably fly more on the ATR at Eagle vs more reserve on the jet at Pinnacle. So if building your time is still important you might think of that. Also, 90 hours of ATR time plus per diem is probably more dough than 75 hours of guarantee sitting reserve on a 200. Upgrade time is a crapshoot everywhere, but there may be an advantage on the prop. I have a friend flying the ATR out of SJU and he sure had a fun time posting beach pictures to facebook in the middle of a harsh winter up north. I find myself in a similar predicament. It's a good problem to have, but there are a lot of factors that make it harder than just a black and white decision. Pay, QOL...what's most important to you?

7 flights a day on AA OKC-DFW, and the flight is only an hour long. You can easily get the ATR, and good chance of getting DFW based from Day 1. Even if you originally got SJU ATR you could transfer to DFW by the time you finish training.

Find another job. Meet a girl work a nine to five and be thankful that you aren't spending 200 days a year living out of a suitcase.

If you come to Pinnacle you are probably going to be based in DTW. My class and the class before us all got DTW.

Building flight time will not be an issue at PCL. You'll fly plenty regardless of seniority. I believe reserves routinely break guarantee at PCL, but a current 9E guy could correct me if I'm wrong there.

With the new JCBA and the hiring required by it, you might not even be on reserve that long, anyway.

Those are the only 2 choices?

What about ASA/ExpressJet? Seems like the best long-term move would be to go there

I'm not too sure why anyone would care about "long-term" these days at a regional. I'd pick the one that has the best opportunities for upgrade and short-term QOL. That is, of course depending on whether or not you're planning on ending your career there. ;)

You sure about that? you realize DL wants the 200's gone yesterday. All XJT has are erj's. I would say for the next 2 years XJT ASA is not a bad choice but after that I think they will have problems right along with Pinnacle
