Colgan Pilots (after SLI)

Will you be seeking to bid into 9E jet vacancies asap after SLI?

What is it for a Colgan Saab FO, a $10/hr increase? If they commute anyway it's a no-brainer. Especially when your 2009 hires end up in front of 2007 XJ/9E hires... not only a $10 raise but 17 days off w/ no weekends for the first time in their career as well.

This is assuming straight relative integration of the snapshot lists, which I consider likely. Also, I don't actually have the snapshot lists so it might actually take a 2008 Colgan hire date to make the above true :)

I'm sure there will be a lot of bids to transfer through all 3 systems. Money is good, but ya gotta consider living in base as well. I know some of our guys would like to fly the jets ;)

It will not be relative with the Colgan guys.

Take the seat lock? Probably not worth it guys, a lot of movement will be going on. I'm with Al, I doubt you will find yourselves in a position with 17 days off/no weekends. Nobody knows how SLI's going to play out, but we'll all be complaining. We're pilots, that's what we do. If it works out well for you guys, good deal; but I wouldn't plan on it. We'll hope no pilot group totally gets the shaft, but it's doubtful that one of us will make out that much better than the other.

If the move to the jet is about domicile and being closer to home, I wouldn't argue. Just to fly a jet though? I'd re-evaluate...SJS is a dangerous affliction, those affected should seek immediate psychiatric evaluation.

jets are boring, but it does come down to pay,... and more then anything, commutability.

while it is sporting to plow thru a line of weather, it'd be nice to have the ability to climb above it...lots to consider !

I for one would bid the RJ if it enabled me to have a better QOL. If I could move to another Saab domicile (ie. DTW) and hold a great line, I would (personally) stick with my current equipment. Money isn't everything. QOL is.

Sounds like a windfall for junior Colgan pilots. Nothing against them, but that notion is depressing...

Not going to pick a side either way, but a 2009 hire FO at Colgan is at the top of the FO list, in fact if we run one more bid before the ISL, there will be a 2009 hire go to upgrade, and I wouldnt be surprised to see a 2010 hire go.

For a 2009 hire to move over to the RJ and then be seat locked for 12 months, would be stupid.
